Duraflex AM-S GT Kit [Picture Heavy]
Hello everyone, we just finished installing the AM-S GT Body Kit by Duraflex on one of our costumer's car and wanted to share our experience with everyone.
So our costumer has a 350z built just for drifting. Here in Lebanon, judges in drifting competitions place points on the looks of the participants' cars. That's why we decided to install this kit on the Z. Now during the research phase, we stumbled upon many online threads, lots of which were on this forum and we found out that lots of people were unhappy with Duraflex products. We still decided to give it a shot. The ordering process was smooth and we were being constantly updated via email on the order's status.
When the kit arrived, we were initially impressed by the finishing of the product. At first glance, it didn't seem as bad as we had expected. The parts were properly packaged and weren't damaged during shipping. We shipped this kit from the USA all the way to Lebanon, so for it to arrive undamaged means it was really well packaged. Also, the fiberglass that Duraflex use for their products is indeed flexible and slightly resembles urethane's flexibility.
When we started to install the kit, we realized that this wasn't going to be an easy task. There were panel gaps and the kit did not fit 100%. But mind you, this is a $700 body kit and all of the errors that we found were corrected and the whole kit was finally installed. At the end of the day, you get what you payed for.
Overall, installation took around 20 hours. For the price that we payed and based on the reviews online, I was seriously expecting to get a much worse kit. However, as their website clearly states "it is recommended that the part be installed by a professional body shop that has experience working with aftermarket fiberglass and urethane body kits." If you are looking to install this as a DIY and have no experience with fiberglass then we wouldn't advice you buy this kit because professional installation is required. However, if you do plan on having a professional instal this kit, we would definitely recommend you go with this kit as we think it looks sick on the 350z. Hope this helped!

Thank you! Exactly, we knew this car was going to be driven hard on the track and, at some point, the body might be damaged. We're glad we went with this kit.
