Default HID Replacements

So... I have a 03 Track 350z that came with factory HID's. Over 11 years the plastic has deteriorated and is yellowed and spider cracked. I want to replace them with black housing lights. I cant find any that are designed for the HID, only halogen model. Does any one know where I can get replacements?

Look on ebay for "350z Depo headlights"

They're HID, the 06 style, black, and only $319.

You'll still need to buy D2S bulbs and blinker bulbs as well, but they're affordable. Just use your existing ballast and harness and you can install them yourself in an hour or two. Very very easy.

Look at the thread about Depo headlights in the interior/exterior forum. Tons of helpful info.

got it... one thing thou it says that for the 03 you have to ground the ballast and rewire? are there any instructions or is the rewire for the DRL that i dont have or care about for that matter.

BTW thank you for not yelling at me to use the search, I did read that post as well but got lost in all the back and forth about irrelevant things

I ordered them and some sylvania 5000k D2S bulbs so we will see. If this is a success I will make a youtube video for others on the forum

You'll be happy believe me. God Willing those are my next headlights.

Of all headlights out there, the best are oem 06' BiXenons for sure...but in second place are the Depo's, above the 03-05 oem HID's.

I have 05 HID's in my 04...and they're big step up from the junk that came with the car...but from photos I've seen of Depo's compared to 05 HID's the Depo's win easily.

Don't worry about the grounding....just means to splice the correct black wire and screw it down...or I believe you can just splice the ground into the other ground wire (use what's called a "pigtail" adaptor...about thirty cents at Ace Hardware...you need one that fits 18-22 gauge wire basically)....I just converted my 04 non-HID to 05 HID's and was nervous about any and all talk of wiring, grounding, etc...it's generally very easy....in your case much much easier than what I had to do, and what I did wasn't that bad once I got eyes on with the project.

Definitely would love to see pics of the headlight's lighting...I already know I'm switching to Depo's when other priorities are taken care of first.

Just so you know....IF you want to spend double and like the silver look better, there are Depo 06's in either black or silver...the black is only $319 and the silver is a little over $600 since they're more in demand for the "oem look". Both look good though.

Hope this helps,
