Default driver side window gets stuck

My window worked fine for as long as I had the car. Just the normal half way roll down problem that I don't really mind. But one night my window didn't go up all the way. It goes up fast until about 1/4 the way up and the window struggles to roll up and quits on me like there's something holding it down. I just don't know if it's the motor dying or if there's something in the way that could stop it from rolling up?

Motor is probably dying. Common problem on the Z. Had to change mine last year on my 08. Now my drivers side window is much faster than my passenger side. Will eventually have to change that side also.

That's what I was thinking too. I doubt there could be anything in the way. I heard the regulators were problems too. I guess I'll just bring it to a dealer. Should probably be like $125 to fix.

lol not from a dealer it won't be.

just order a new motor online and do it yourself. even if you aren't experienced, it shouldn't take more than an hour.

Dealer tried charging me $700 to change mine. After some issues with my warranty they ended up doing the job for free, I just had to pay for the parts.

Mine does this when it gets hot outside. I just hold it until it gets to the top and it works fine. When its not hot I obviously don't have this problem.

So I went to the dealer today and they wanted 500 for the repair and diagnostic. I can fix it myself no problem but idk if it's the motor or regulator that's broken

A pound to a pinch of **** your motor is toast! If your car (judging by your forum name) is an '03 it's done really well to have lasted eleven years. Have you tried the window reset? If so and its still not working then you have a few choices.
1) You take it to a stealer and get raped so you walk bandy for a while.
2) You buy a motor and fit it yourself. There are YouTube videos to help you out.
3) You remove the motor strip it and fit new brushes. Someone (can't remember who) has catalogue numbers (search is your friend) and it seems that these are the cause of the motor failure. There is a caveat to this method though and that is, there is no guarantee as to how long this fix will last.
4) Take it to an Independent Auto Electrician and let him sort it out.

Got a new motor for 130 and now the window works fine. It was actually way easier to replace than I thought.

So the same thing happened again on the same window. I think it's the regulator that needs to be replaced. But it worked fine for the month i had it on. What do you guys think?

Yes typically when you change the motor you should change the regulator as well, since you already have everything open it makes sense. Hopefully lesson learned. They should cover that motor and give you a new one.
