Default Options for Redoing Headlights

Just coming up with ideas that will look good and be affordable for my headlights.
I have the older DE headlights and I have sanded them a couple times to remove the yellowish look that they have had in the past.
At this point my headlights are pretty beat... They both have the heat/stress cracks all over them. They both have a hint of a yellowish tint to them in certain lighting. And the passenger side has decided in the past few months that it wants to start condensating and collecting moisture.

My ideas so far are either simply swapping to 06+ headlights which will be pricy to do because nobody will want to swap for my headlights.
My next idea is having my lights sent to somebody, having them opened, maybe removing the orange strip inside and adding a red demon eye or the ironman mod or whatever else is out there. But that option leaves me with the fact that my lenses are also pretty beat up.

So if you guys have any suggestions or opinions let me hear them.

Just adding to it...
Would somebody that customizes headlights be able to paint the housing of the headlights white? Or would I have to have a body shop do that?

Anybody can rattle can the inside. Not everyone will use high quality automotive paint. Bite the bullet, pay for 06+ or Depo. I have never really liked any of the modded 03-05 lights no matter how many megaman xmas leds you wire in.

Most of the Depo's I have seen are black or really gaudy. Im going to look for some that are close to oem.
And what about ballast and bulbs? If I'm correct the 06+ require the other ballasts, and Depo's are made to replicate the 06+ so do I need different ballasts for them?

Check out ZLEDs he sells OEM 06+ and Depos and will customize to your hearts desire. He will also paint your housings PPW if you wish. Pretty reasonable pricing and his work is top notch.

Have you checked the back of your lights to make sure the seals are in place because if they aren't this would cause condensation. Other than that the seal has gone between body and lens. I stopped my lenses from fading by using 2500grit & 3000grit wet n dry to remove the smokey look on the lenses and then applied marine quality (boats spend most of their time on the water absorbing UV rays) clear varnish and haven't had to touch them since (2 years ago). Some people swear by toothpaste or Meguiars metal polish followed by wax but you're going to be doing the same thing again in a few months time. Your 2nd pic looks like you've had a go with 120grit.

I actually used one of the meguiars kits to polish them and they came very clear when I did that. Those cracks that you can see in the second picture are actually on the inside of the lens i believe.

And I suppose I will contact ZLEDs and be prepared for my wallet to be held hostage

EDIT: I just sent ZLEDs an email. From looking at their website they do amazing work

Alright well I have been doing a lot of researching different lights because i am trying to get the oem chrome looking style, without paying over $800. The solution to that is to get the $330 black repo ones. What I'm trying to find is repo lights that are made chrome like the oem ones. I can find them for older DE style lights but not the the 06+ headlights.
Does anybody know if they make any that aren't all black?

they do make the chrome one, but not many sellers carry them. and even if you are able to find a seller for it, they are not cheap either.

I think i might get the cheaper black depo lights and have them painted white and then send them back to zLEDs because i don't see white as an option on their website.
Does anybody know if there is a better way to contact them other than email? I have emailed them a couple days ago and haven't heard back yet.

If you look at the paint housing options it says "other" so he can do any color you want. Also, if you look at the customer example photos there are a couple pics of a grey and PPW Z with color matched housings.

I saw the grey (which is listed in the dropbox) but didn't see the photos with paint matched white. That makes my life simpler. So I guess once they get back to my email I will tell them exactly what I want and will order them.
