Default painter tape on body panel

i have a question to ask.
i will have to transport my car from one state to another which would take about 6-10 days on a huge truck trailer flat bed.
Would it be fine to cover up the roof, hood, and front bumper with 3M Blue Painter's tape to avoid rock chips, scratches and direct sun exposure, or maybe rain?
I'm hoping that the paint wouldn't mess up..

Get a roll of cheap vinyl any color. Wrap it up where you think there might be potential damage. No need to worry if it looks perfect since its for shipping. Removal is easy, warm up the car, peel in direct sunlight.

Do use and do not leave painters tape on your car. Especially for a few days outside and especially if in direct sun light..... It will make a mess and cleanup could be messier and costly. Ask me how I know? Happened to me on a black car.. The blue painters tape was left on my car for a few days while in the path of direct sunlight and yeah It made a effin mess. Mr Sparco's suggestion is basically the only option for hood and roof aside from plastidip. You can 3M film for the front bumper. Actually instead of vinyl you might want to look for straight up 3M film and use that instead.

Do you by any chance where i could buy the enough 3M vinyl that could cover hood, roof, and maybe front bumper at low price? I have a feeling this could cost over $50..

You can also use Avery sw900, a bit cheaper in price or if you want to go lower budget, get Hexis (France), even cheaper Vvivid (China). Won't leave any residue.

Go to a paint and body supply store and ask for crash wrap, this will cover the whole car.
