Straight to the point...

Saw an 06 interior door panel in an 04 today...want to do this for my car...but the 06 was a slightly lighter shade of black? Is this always the case or are the 07 and 08 door panels darker?

I tried to google this a bit, but it's an awkward topic to find quick info on, so..sorry for such a basic question but I figured someone will just know this easily, issue resolved.

P.S. - I'm very familiar with Z's...so the interior of both the 04 and 06 are black...no chance either car interior pieces being anything other than black in case someone was thinking the 06 was the light grey frost interior...which would be a stretch..but hey...this is the internet...all forms of dumb congregate around keyboards online (and yes...some days I'm that dumb guy with a keyboard)

All the same color, I have 07 panels in my 04... I've been helping deus myself as I have done the swap twice lol.

BTW, first time I did the swap the parts came from a 2006 so I've seen both in person.

I can confirm the color match- at least on two cars that are garaged and not sun-faded. I converted my '03 Z over to the '07 interior with the mid model upgrades. There are parts of the '03 interior that sit next to '07 charcoal interior panels and I cannot see any difference. Hope that answers your question.

Thx you guys...good news but bad news I suppose..I picked up a door panel and have it installed, love it and got a great deal on it, but this one doesn't match my car's interior exactly...so that means sun faded? Pretty strange to me...but...it is what it is.

What's odd though is the entire panel is in great shape and the same shade of different black...it's not like it's sun faded up top but original black at bottom where it's always in a shadow...the whole door looks nearly new, yet not the same shade of black as my 04 dash and whatnot.

Now I just gotta find a driver door in really great shape...if anyone finds one or knows of one I'd really appreciate any heads up you can share...would love to finish this conversion soon and have matching doors, even if the passenger side is slightly off....or...I'd even buy another passenger door if it was mint condition and then just sell of this one...it's pretty nice shape...just slightly off....but...I'm a perfectionist no denying it.

Thanks to all you guys, really appreciate the teamwork on getting my Z improved bit by bit.

Hopefully...when the interior is more done....rear mount STS turbo...if I can find a good one used for a good price

Vroom vroom! Ah now I can't concentrate....I better stop dreaming of the turbo and get some actual stuff done.

Perhaps take a phone pic of your interior and request a pic of one buying and compare.mb

Good advice, and the one I bought had a picture provided, but since you can't see the door panel being sold and your own interior side by side in the same pic with the same lighting it's impossible to tell if the black tonality matches?

It's ok...just glad to have a refreshed door panel ultimately, gotta keep things in perspective, the blacks don't match exactly, but hey...it's not like I'm in Iraq being chased by evil that wants to murder and behead me ya know?
