This is exactly what I was dreaming of when I designed (in my head) the future interior of my -08. Amazing concept and I'm really looking forward to how things develop.

I think you made the right decision on keeping the 3 gauge pods due to the aesthetic design.

TL;DR - Any love for the european market?

As for me being a european, would this product be avaliable to me and are you concidering any differences there could be (?) between cars built for the european market?
Other car manufacturers have had different ECUs for different markets such that you couldn't use, for instance, a EU gauge cluster with a US ECU, knock and O2 sensors being calibrated differently (due to different fuel qualitites and standards) etc so the car would either shut down as theft prevention or be thrown into limp mode when using a combination of parts intended for different markets.

I don't know if there are any such differences on the 350Z, are you (or anyone else?) aware of any and would such differences in software have any impact on the features you are running?

As for the networking iirc, don't quote me on this, the US runs 4G connectivity on a different frequency than what we do in the EU, or is that old/false? And if so would this be concidered in the software?

Again, amazing concepts and I'm really looking forward to see how things develop.

The decision to move to an "insert" design will make things much easier for those who are RHD. The OBDII data that we read is a global standard supported by manufacturers, so I don't forsee any major challenges.

The wireless functionality of Brainiac is either built-in WiFi, bluetooth/USB pairing with your phone or connecting a USB cellular modem. All standards should work globally

I've been involved with different cellular standards globally in the past and it can be a big mess. We've decided to stick to WiFi or piggy-backing on your existing cell phone connection.

More details are now available for the 10.1" Brainiac designs! After listening to feedback from the community we've gone with an insert design that retains the Z's iconic 3 dashboard gauges.

You can learn more about the decisions and details on our blog

We just hit a great milestone! Thanks to your feedback the 3D models have now been completed and we are moving onto the 3D printing phase for the prototype plastics to do some test fitting. You can check out all the renderings in the blog post

We just posted up a new editorial covering our views of the importance of great embedded electronics to create an environment for innovation in the in-car experience. We titled it "Your Car is More than Just an Accessory for your Phone". We hope you enjoy it!

It crossed my mind today that there's a great benefit for me in you keeping the gauge pods. My steering wheel's on the right side (as against wrong/left) so I would need a mirror image bezel. Just taking out the centre and leaving the pods means it should fit UK models like mine, as well as Anzac and JDM.

Damn it. The more I look at this, the more I want it, but you guys aren't doing 07-08 models.
