Default Broken door mirror question

Hi guys, I was at a light waiting for the green light. The signal turned green and I proceeded to go when I noticed a parked car's door opening . You can imagine what happened next. Yup, their door killed my passenger door mirror. I have an 03 without the heat option and was wondering if I could use one from a donor car that has the heated mirror option? I know that it won't give me a heated mirror but I just want to make sure the electrical connection will still work for the mirror functionality. BTW, the other guy's insurance if paying for the damage and already cut me the check.
Thanks,

J

There is no reason you cannot use the heated mirror; the bolts are the same. There is just a wiring harness that feeds through a hole in the door. Just ziptie it to something so it doesn't rattle around.

Thanks for the info, I will post back once I determine if the swap affects the original mirror motion.

Never heard of a heated mirror option on ANY of the Z33s. The electrical connections are for the mirror adjustments, not for any heaters in either of the side mirrors.

That's what the insurance adjuster told me??? I know my 03 has a three wire plug, the ones I've seen labeled as "heated" for sale on ebay have a five wire connection.

Yeah, my 03 touring came with heated mirrors. Controlled by the rear window defroster switch.
