I bought the car with this black paint showing and not sure about best way to repair it without repainting the entire front bumper. Other recommendation i had was to get a painting pen from the dealership that helps with smaller paint chips but not sure if it will work well on such a large area. Any suggestions to look into or DIY ways to repair?

Welcome- hope you got a good deal on your Z with this damage. It's too big to really spot paint, although that might be the cheapest solution. Otherwise, a body shop can reshoot the entire bumper if you want a flawless finish.
ya i have had it for about 2 years plus now but just getting around to it as I keep seeing it and recently been bothering me more and more....but had few quotes which arent bad but nervous by if repainted just the bumper it would be more shiny and newer paint not to match the rest of the car more or less
A good painter will color match the fade on your paint. But you can't expect miracles as the color changes slightly in the future. At least any fade won't be as apparent as leaving it the way it is currently.
Stick a front plate on their and it will cover it up... Probably wont look as good though... Your lucky you dont need a plate up front... Ive been pulled over for not having mine on before...
ya i had a black plate frame on it and only covered the 4 holes which is no problem but still didnt cover that black mark. Wasnt a fan of it and not without it it stands out more and can see the metal inside the grill area as well thinking of getting a black mesh grill and something to cover the black spot
Ill tell you what I do but my car is far from a show car... I use nail polish to cover up my imperfections... And if they are large I use some wrap... But for that I would get some white nail polish and call it a day.
I think their should be a little plastic insert to cover up your tow hook threads... You could be super cool and get a cool tow hook for the front. Or use the one in the trunk... I think that looks a bit cheesy but some people like it. And the hooped one isnt bad.
you should get the haze off the headlights. if you are not too ocd, you could tape off around the area, and light mist it with body color duplicolor paint, couple hits.... wet sand when dry, hit it again, wet sand again, clear, dry, wet sand, clear again, dry, wet sand
Paint pen will work but it will not give the best result. As a tip, use it very lightly and apply another coat if needed. You can wetsand it if it is not smooth.
Anyone ever use the paint pen you get from dealership or somewhere that matches the color if works good or any way to remove it after?
Attempting to do this tomorrow. Some road debris from a three car pile hit my car on the opposite side of the road and broke out 3 chunks of my paint.
Nissan didn't have the paint pen, [KH3 - Super Black] so I bought one from Autozone [Duplicolor ASF 0100].
Watched dozens of YT DIY vids before attempting it and right now it's not looking too great. Bought some 2000 and 3000 grit sandpaper to try and level everything before hitting it with some polishing compound and wax tomorrow.
Long story short -- I wish I'd just taken it to my bodyshop and let the pros handle it.
Well, it's not "perfect" and I know what I'd do next time. But for what I paid for materials it's not that bad. Car is due for a complete respray anyway since you can basically breathe on Nissan paint to take it off.
But from a distance I can't tell it's there. And it's only when you get close up on an angle that you can see the old paint damage.
Definitely use the "tooth pick method" or the "paint dab method" to fix small chips and scratches. Those brushes that come with the paint pens stink.
Ive done worse... Im about to do my roof over because I majorly messed it up...
On a side note nail polish does a good job of hiding minor blemishes...

I was going to order some paint from that place then I cheaped out... I still haven't fixed that to perfection..(not even remotely close) its just less noticeable.
