Should I Remove My Front Bumper?
Hey all,
For track purposes I've been doing minor weight reduction modifications and figured that I have no problem with disassembling and reassembling the front bumper. So the question is, would I gain any benefits to removing the front bumper for time attack? Will I get more air to the radiator hense keeping everything relatively colder? What would be some negatives? I appreciate any opinion and I couldn't find any other thread that really answered these questions to my specific curiousity.
Thanks

There are no appreciable performance gains on removing bodywork - aero and engine airflow was designed by the factory to run at max efficiency.
Annnnnnd.... check with your sanctioning body about running sans bodywork. Most will not allow you to even grid in incomplete condition. Some exceptions occur in cases where it's lost in track shunts and the like.

I have a feeling he is talking about the bumper beam, not the bumper cover.
It's light, leave it on. Also read what Mic said above , it's actually incorporated into the airflow for the radiator
