Default I wanna get rid of my spoiler. Any suggestion?

Hi, I have 05 350Z that came with the big spoiler on the trunk.
I'm not a big fan of this style spoiler, so I want to get rid of it, but then I'm worried it will leave a few holes on the trunk.

Does anybody know if there is a deck lid spoiler (which doesn't stand too tall) that will cover all the holes this spoiler (in the picture) will leave?

I even thought about just buying a trunk piece from ebay or something to swap it out, thinking it may cost me more at the shop to fill the hole and repaint, then just buy a used trunk.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think there are any spoilers available that will cover where that one is mounted so if you keep that trunk you will have to have the holes filled.

I would suggest finding a whole different trunk, but your car is not the OEM color. It looks to me like it is plastidipped or wrapped, which means that no other trunk will match unless you do that to the new trunk

Thank you for your reply.
Yes the car was plastidipped in red. If I were to buy a new trunk,ll probably just plasti dip it too. (which makes it somewhat easier on trunk search... I don't have to worry about the color) Or maybe I'll just buy the black trunk (original color of the car) and leave it black in the middle. (Hood is left black and convertible lid is also black now - plasti dip was falling apart, so I just ripped them off on the lid)

Well you could always find a black trunk and put it on. If you don't like it 2 tone like that you can always dip it red

Get plastic plugs for under $1 on ebay and plasti-dip red. /endthread

Side note. I could tell it was plastidipped, but it actually looks even in that picture

Fill the holes with plastic filler, smooth with thin layer of bondo feathered properly, and paint or plastidip.

There's really no spoiler - especially for a ZR trunk - that's going to cover those DIAGONALLY placed bolt holes.

Even if you get a new trunklid, you're still going to need paint work to match whatever matte you've got on there.

Just take it to a shop and have them fill and re-finish. Not much other choice.

Thanks everyone for your input.
I was hoping there was some aftermarket lip spoiler that may cover up those weird angle holes.... Oh well...
I'll just take the car to local shop to get a quote on filling the hole and repaint (black to match OEM color).

just fill the holes yourself sand it smooth and redip... I would be surprised if any good body shop would mess with plasti dip, or anything this small.

Good call on getting rid of the spoiler. Like everyone has stated, there is no real way to cover up the holes unless you're comfortable with DIY. Personally I would just take it to the shop. Who knows, maybe it won't be too big of a deal.

I would get rid of the spoiler and get a CF trunk lid. My opinion though

It's not a "bad" spoiler, it just doesn't compliment the 350z curves at all

how about this one? I think it'll cover up most of the holes from the previous wing.

there are also some replicas of this wing available (shine auto I think has one)

I think the ducktail looks quite good, certainly a little bit more "subtle" in some ways
