Looks like they're having a sale and selling the prototype stuff for the 350z ... good way to save I guess. Found that while surfing online. Thought I can share it with you guys.

Been owning a Z for 1 month now and been on this forum and started realize why does the Z have so many issues? For a japanese car you would think it would not have a bunch of problems. I have mercedes E500 and a Corvette
C6 and they dont even have as much problems like the Z. They have a few couple things but it seems like I have been finding out problem after problem on this forum and from ownership. I was thinking it would have been problem free in comparision to a chevy or mercedes. Mine is 04 with 45K, I guess maybe the earlier production date?
So far I have acknowledge and dealing with are:
alignment/feathering
Bose Sub cut out, fixed with apply pressure to relay.
Bose Left front cut out
airbag light fixed with reset
rear axel clicking
brake squeeking in front?
NOT YET:
radiator fan?
Hate to say this I am starting to love my Z a little more than my vette!

For those who have full coverage and have their aftermarket items covered such as wheels, stereo, body kit included...this ones for you guys:

Question:

If they take the pictures my car when I get full coverage and I chose not to get the aftermarket parts coverage, would the parts be covered in case of an accident? I know for a fact in case of theft they are not covered if I chose not to get aftermarket coverage but what if the aftermarket bumper is damaged in an accident? would they replace with the aftermarket one or is it not covered under full coverage?

Kinda confusing, I feel like I might as well get the aftermarket coverage because they are taking the pictures of my car with all my parts on there anyways. Sometimes I feel like not covering them because my deductible is $1000 and I dont know if they would give me close to what I paid for my wheels ($3000)

Last Friday I was driving on 21 going to my old high schools play off game. It was about 7 at night when a dog darted out in front of me. I should've hit the damn dog...I wasn't thinking about that though and swerved going 70. the next few seconds i can't recall but it ended with me going airborne over a barbed wire fence, going straight through a small tree, through a metal pole fence, and ending it by hitting another tree. I missed the top of the metal pole fence because the z is so low (the top of the fence would had gone straight through the windshield). Part of that fence went through my registration sticker coming about 3 feet from hitting me. Out of all this me and the person i was with walked away with nothing more than some scratches. Unfortionately my baby was totaled. Shoulda hit the damn dog.

So I ordered some gold with polished lip Work VS-XX wheels in 19 inch. I went with the wheel shops recommendation with the fronts being 19X9.5 with a +19 offset, and the rears being 19X10.5 with a +17 offset. I notice a ton of u are riding with some sweet low offsets, are the specs that I am buying good for an 08 350z? I have the option of having the fronts at a +17 offset like the rears, but I don't want the lip size to be the same as rears, (as it stands now, 3.3 inch front lip, 4.0 inch rear lip)...having said that, I can also get the rears in a +4 offset I believe.

I did quite a bit of searching all over this site, and seems like everyones offsets are all over the place. What are some recommendations? It will be lowered on Stance GR+ true coilovers.

Thx

Quick noob question, how accurate is the computer MPG calculator? I admit i drive it pretty gently back and forth from work, about 50/50 highway/city. I just recently started using the computer to calculate my mileage and it says im getting close to 30 on the highway, roughly 25 when i get home, i have a 6mt and have mastered driving it without ever going above 2k RPM (usually around 1,500). I suppose i could figure it out myself the next time i refuel bit i wanted to ask the experts first, i tried searching but was not sure what to search for. If the computer is unreliable i will just set it to something more useful, like the front tire pressures LOL!!!! :D

OK Guys ...interesting situation here.

I bought my 350Z from CarMax in April and recently it developed a bad rattle. it is caused by a loose baffle inside the radiator so I took it into the local exhaust shop. I was stunned when they told me I had an "illegal" exhaust system with no catalytic converters.

Apparently the previous owner installed an illegal exhaust system. The exhaust says "Megan" or something on it...CarMax PASSED IT during inspection.

Obviously, I don't want an illegal exhaust on there and I am wondering...should CarMax be responsible for replacing the exhaust for me? Obviously, the passed an illegal car inspection and then sold me the car.

Thanks!

hey guys, bought my Z the other day and have quickly noticed the stock Bose stereo isn't great. Im looking at buying a new headunit with the touch screen display, like a kenwood or alpine. Probably the kenwood. Is there a adapter kit for the installation of the head unit, or does it fit in the stock brackets for the old bose unit? how did you guys that have done it do it? did you buy one of those kits for aftermarket stereos or modify the original equipment that the car came with? Cheers Ben

So this is something I have been wondering about, and I just wanted to see what you guys have to say about it. I have an 05 silver ZR with an auto transmission.

One of my friend's friends installed a twin turbo on his 350z and the transmission blew out on the first test run. I have another friend who installed an exhaust and intake on his G35 without any problems. Both owners drive autos.

While I think installing an exhaust and intake onto the engine should be fine, I am concerned with transmission issues. Correct me if I am wrong, but doesnt the weight of the car (especially the roadster) put some more strain onto the transmission? Sometimes I hear some grinding noises from the rear when I drive from a standstill and it scares me.

Does anyone have any trouble with installing superchargers or turbo kits on their auto 350Zs? Personally I am not looking for an insane hp gain, but I want to at least break 300hp.
