I realized that I really wanted the Roadster anyway. I have found an '07 350zr at another dealership. It's the Touring model, 11,800k, one owner, with lots of power options. It's not my favorite color but I can live with that. I have contacted the dealer, told him my situation with the trade and that I will be looking at buying another used car also to drive back and forth to work. He said he would give me the $17,000 for my Altima trade which is what I want and would come down from $23,995 to $22,995 for the z and he has other used cars in my price range for a 2nd vehicle. It's all in my financial range! I am going to see and drive it this Saturday. I really feel good about this one and hope this is it. the plan was to get a "cheap" car so my girl can give her moms car back (07 RAV4 that she pays $500 note on!) and she would take me 02 RSX TypeS. So I was looking for a "cheap" car but then I ran into this Z. I have been a fan of the Z since they came out.
I was looking to spend about 10 grand on a car to lower our car note, but then iIfound this Z. I wouldn't mind paying 11 grand for this Z if its worth it...
what do you guys think?
Also, what does the trim touring mean?
I want a sports car back since I had an 03 EVO about 2 years ago but payments and insurance killed me and i had to let the car go after having it for 9 months, very painful day!! :(

I know the person who wants to buy it since he's a coworker of mine.

I was contemplating the idea of buying a newer 350z, 07-08 basically, simply because of the HR and 6mt, mine is 5at. There's a 08 SMB touring with 10k miles approx. around my area going for $17,000, however, the car has a rebuilt title.

I went to the dealer where they have it and did a full inspection on it. I took it for a spin, and after that I asked the guy in charge why the car had been rebuilt and he said he'd show me the pictures of after the accident. I saw the accident pictures taken by the insurance, and according to him, the driver of the car lost control and went into a dig and hit a pole. The front bumper, passenger headlight and right fender had to be replaced. The right side curtain airbag also deployed.

Now as I said, I already inspected the car and they replaced every part including the airbag with what appear to be authentic OEM parts. I was thinking that 17k was too pricey, so he said he'd leave it at 16k. I left that day and said that I may or may not come back (this was about 3-4 weeks ago)

I was thinking of going again with cash in hand and offering 14k.

What should i look out for when testing the Z's besides the normal grinding or odd sounds of the tranny?

I am located in Virginia and found this one in NY and plan on getting a SMS 3rd party inspection before i drive up to see it.

What happens when you trade in a car that you owe slightly more than the trade-in value but you trade it in for a car that is worth less than the trade-in value?

example: Say you owe $20k on a car that has a trade-in value of $18k and you trade it in for a car that is worth $16k. Do you end up paying the difference between what you owe and what the new car is worth (20k-16k = 4k) because the value of the car is covered in the trade-in value?

It does have cruise controls on the steering wheels and 17" wheels. He tells me the previous owner said it was a Touring.

I call local Nissan with VIN and guy says it's a Base model. I then read on here that both Enthusiast and Performance models show up in their system as base.

So I'm now 99% sure it's an enthusiast.......................UNTIL I call my credit union for loan approval. I give them the VIN and it comes up as a Touring.

How can I find out for certain?

Carfax report shows nothing as to the model/trim.

BTW, the VIN indicates it's a 2004.5, if that helps.
