Is it true that rotors need to be machined every time you change pads or only when it’s required ( in case there is vibration or the rotor shows surface damage). A friend insist that it’s required to have them machined, I would like to believe that he is wrong… Please confirm who is right. Also, the grease used for the brake pads… Do I really have to buy it from the dealer or could it be from regular autozone… I just don’t want to melt that grease and then have pure oil on my brakes…

I'm wanting to upgrade the factory setup while retaining the stock calipers, and rotor size. Any suggestions? I only drive my car in the summer, some track days:) Brake dust isn't an issue for me, just the fade I experienced during my last track day:( Thanks for your help.

Hello my350z, I'm installing hotchkis sway bars on my 04 track edition z and I was wondering which settings I should be using for stock suspension?...

Hello my350z, I'm installing hotchkis sway bars on my 04 track edition z and I was wondering which settings I should be using for stock suspension?

There's an exotics rally that I will be attending Sunday and there will be lots of nice corning to do on this endurance race/trip.

My set up as follows:
stock 04.5 suspension
19x9.5 255/35/19
19x10.5 285/35/19
hotchkis sways
spl endlinks

The specs of the sway bars as follows:

350Z & 03- 05 G35 Front
Hole 1 = 1525 lbs/in (22% Stiffer than stock)
Hole 2 = 1845 lbs/in (48% Stiffer than stock)
Hole 3 = 2270 lbs/in (82% Stiffer than stock)
Hole 4 = 2855 lbs/in (129% Stiffer than stock)

Rear:
Hole 1 = 520 lbs/in (80% Stiffer than stock)
Hole 2 = 655 lbs/in (125% Stiffer than stock)
Hole 3 = 840 lbs/in (185% Stiffer than stock)

I don't know which hole on the sway bars to use..please let me know your thoughts of adjustment. I was thinking hole 2 for the front and hole 1 for the rear (from what I read so far)

thanks

Eric

This is my fisrt time doing the brakes on the z Im going with new powerslot rotors hp pads and stoptech steel braided brakes lines. Iv done. Some reading on the whole process of making the install but iv been left blank on a couple of questions I had about the brake fluid.

When it comes to driving my z is a daily driver but I do canyon driving as well as the occasional track and was looking for any recomendations towards the best fluid.

1. Is brake fluid like other parts of the braking system where as if I use a high performance fluid will I not have decent brakes till there heated.

2. Can I use dot 4 as well cause it seems that alot of the hp brake fluid are
mostly dot 4 and the maneul recomends dot 3
