I am running an STS turbo on my car, and during the tune I had the idle bumped up with Cipher to a steady 900rpms. Before the idle bump, the car would idle very rough and would stall. So now the TPS has gone bad, so in a few day I will be replacing the throttle body. Do I have to do an idle air relearn after replacing the TB? Will this mess up the idle set with Cipher? Will I have to set the idle again? Thanks

also he said to replace the rotors would be 130 a rotor for oem ones . I made the comment to him that I can get 4 stoptech rotors for about 250 and he said stoptech wasn't good enough like the oem ones. should I go with stoptech?

he also said just to check the brakes and rotos would be 109 what a rip off. please any suggestions and comments welcomed

I have over 71k miles on my Z and I plan on keeping it for a few more years. I have been running synthetic oil since day one and I have never had any engine trouble. I stopped going to the dealer for service and use a local garage to do the same stuff (i.e. had radiator flushed at 60k)

I was wondering at what point should I worry about the following:

Changing the rear differential fluid
Changing the AT fluid
Replacing the belts
Replacing the spark plugs

All the above things seems to be pretty cheap things I could do that would go a long way to keep my car running without problems I just can't seem to find out what mileage I should do these things at. Thanks.

I recently just installed my Nismo intakes on my Z and later on figured out the rattling i was hearing, was the CAI heatshield rubbing up against the AC Line. It almost cut a hole clean through it before I caught it unistalled it and made a few cuts. I am still however getting horrible squeaking noises around corners and on uneven surfaces. I pinpointed the squeaking to the ac line because whenever I get up in there and wiggle the damn thing, its the same squeak thats driving me nuts! I just got back from the dealership and they said it was impossible to be loose because it is dirrectly bolted to the engine.. :dunno:

i have an 04 350z enthusiast 6 speed and i bought the car back in april when it was still warm but when it started to cool down i had a cel come on saying thermostat failure or ect sensor failure. i bought the thermostat and when i took the old housing off to replace the thermostat i found that my car had no thermostat in it. i put the new thermostat in and reset the ecu. i turned the car on and within about three minutes it was up to operating temperature and acting just fine. i let the car idle about another 10 minutes while i checked on something in the house and when i came back out the car was starting to over heat. i took it for a spin around the block to see if maybe some air flow would cool it down, and by the time i got it back to my garage it the temp needle was all the way up. i tried to turn the heater on to draw some heat off the motor and it blew ice cold ac even with the temperature set at 90 degrees. i have since taken the thermostat out but i am getting very nervous driving the vehicle as it is getting colder and the vehicle will no longer get anywhere near operating temp. my heater works when the car starts to warm up but only when im giving the car some gas, if it sits at idle or the engine speed slows down, then its starts to blow colder and colder air. please if anywone has any insight it would be very appreciated im drawing up a blank and dont know what else to do other than take it to a shop so they can try to fix it by trial and error and waste all of my money that i have little of at the moment.

I have a 1997 Acura Cl with 240K miles and I technically have never changed the coolant. What I do is buy the coolant from the dealer so it is the exact same and just drain the radiator and refill once a year and have had no problems with my water pump, heater core or thermostat. I'm approaching that mileage where I need to change the coolant on my Z. I would rather just avoid the hassel of the process of purging the air bubbles that so many of us seem to have when changing our coolant. My plan is to empty and fill my radiator, drive the car for a day and repeat the process for a total of 2 to 3 times. I would imagine that this would do a pretty good job of changing out the fluid and be much simpler. I'm not worried about the $20-30 of extra cost if I can avoid doing a complete flush. What do you guys think? Good idea or not?
