IB staff has told us last week that they're looking into ways to bring back the option but did not state when it could be done. I'll ask and see what's going on. Thanks for your patience, guys.

meh. Doesnt work very well on Firefox/Android on phone when viewing full site.
And no....i dont use mobile site on my phone.
Can they not just bring back the single click button in the header bar?
Photobucket pulled this same move of making everything sleek and pretty. They took what used to be a 1-2 click operation and made it like 5.
Also the reply box is left justified on the screen...kinda annoying.

IB tests using both iOS and Android, but what phone and browser are you using? Personally, I don't access the site on my phone often but when I do, I use the stock browser on my Note 3 and haven't had any issues with the drop down menu.

firefox on android on a galaxy s4. Full version site.
When i go to click on it, it loads my user profile and not the drop down. If the drop down does appear (while the next page is loading) the screen tries to re-adjust. Never can get it to click.

Have you tried any other browsers by any chance?
edit - I just tried Chrome on my phone and was able to replicate what you were saying. I'll update you once I hear back from the IB admins.

So I just found a way to work around what you're describing. You just press and hold onto the nav tab. The phone essentially thinks you're right clicking but also drops down the menu. When you cancel the right click, the drop down menu is still there. Slight inconvenience but it works.
The Staff actually asked for "Marketplace" and "Forums" nav tabs to be clickable which is why they redirect you to their respective pages. This also allows it to be consistent with the rest of the drop down menu that have sub-menus.
Basically, the reason why you're experiencing issues is because mobile devices can't "hover" like a mouse can. Thus, I'm not certain if it's worth changing a layout to allow for "desktop mode" on mobile devices and sacrifice practicality on real desktops.

practicality? Having the button hidden in a drop down menu is not practical. When the button was on the bar at the top of the screen that is not like 25% full...it was practical. Were not asking for a new feature, were asking for them to revert back to how it was and stop trying to change things just for the sake of changing them. If it aint broke...dont try to fix it.
Whatever....some noob programmer at IB must want to showcase his flash/html5 skills. Usefullness of the site be damned.
