Hi there
I am about to get a APS TT kit for my 2005 350Z , as part of this I want to upgrade my internals. I was referred to you via my350z.com
I am thinking of getting the Basic Short Block and have two questions:
Basic short block: $2700 + $1000 core
Block oil passages cleaned
Block redecked
Block Bored and Honed using a Torque Plate
Crank balanced
Crank journals polished
Shot peened stock rods
ARP Rod Studs
New Rod and Main bearings w/ceramic coating
CP Pistons .020 over(8.5:1 or 11.5:1)
1) Once I order how long will it take until I receive the short block and
2) I am planning to tune to around 600 whp will the this block manage this or will I need to get the upgraded block?
thanks
Answer:
We always reccomend getting rods for anything over 450 RWHP.....As of right now we do not have any cores to sell. If you send us your block it will be about 4 weeks, depending on the availability of the pistons....

Thanks. What about the long block. Can you put that on the 350z? If so, would that be any more benefitial than a short block?
Thanks Again,

Cutouts on test pipes !!
I had them already and now that I'm adding the Greddy system doesn't it make since that if they are open (tune it that way) that HP and torque would increase over not opening them. Dynoing while N/A or using n2o did not show a gain either way. Reading up on turbos leads me to believe you want to do away with back pressure as much as possible. Any thoughts??

Just a tip, when you're getting the TT install done, make sure to move the power steering line away from the turbo.I had a custom made steel line.
The stock aluminum line kept rubbing on the turbo and made a hole, I had no power steering and I had to bring it back to the shop. I wasn't charged for the repair but it's still an inconveniece.

I'm not sure as the turbos aren't the same size. You might want to tell the installer to make a note of this.
