Default Stolen Hangdun Retrieved

About 4 months ago I had a brand new Sig Sauer P226 stolen from me. This is the first time I've ever lost a firearm to theft. I've always considered myself a responsible gun owner and losing one to the streets has not sat well with me since.

Last week I received a call from the officer who took my stolen gun report. He said the Washington D.C. police raided some drug dealers apartment and found it there...still in new condition with no damage. He says I'll be getting back after the guy's trial.

I just wanted to tell someone, so happy to not have to lay down $750 to replace it...

It's the second one from right, next to the FN 5.7.

How was it stolen to begin with? Just curious.

I elected to help an old friend who had developed a serious drug/alcohol problem. I let her stay at my house for a couple of months before she stole it and disappeared. Learned my lesson, however she was homeless and suicidal when she resurfaced earlier this year...felt I had to at least try.

She's living w/ friends of her parents now from what I know.

lmao... She looked real good when we dated 7 years ago. Cute petite redhead, probably best in the sack I've ever had. We had a nickname for her...BTF...let me know if you figure out what those initials mean, lol. I'll give a hint, the B is for "Born".

But now, after two years of drinking and ummm, heroin use...no, she's not at all the same. Amazing what that **** can do to people. It pwns her...

I also worry about my guns ever finding their way into that hands of criminals. I mean losing a 400-800$ hand gun would suck but to have your gun you bought used to kill an innocent person is what would realy get me. im glad to hear you got your gun back and is now in safer hands. Can we turn this thread into another post your favorite gun you own thread? There have been a few already but I like to look at what others have in their arsenal. Here is mine. Spring Field XD40- I love the way this gun feels. BEN

Glad to hear you got it back.

bstansbu, that's a pretty piece you have there.
I *want* to get one even though the lady doesn't approve, but I worry about security emergencies....we're relatively safe where we are now, but "safe" is a relative word....till something happens.

glad to hear, must be a relief for you.

btw, sorry to sound dumb, but FN 5.7 is now legal to non-LE? A few years ago I heard it was only for LE because of the ballistic nature of the round.

Now thats a smart post. Keeping a gun in a safe in your home is the equivalent of having a gun and not buying bullets for it. If and when some freak, breaks into your home at night with your wife and yourself sleeping and you need ready acess to your fire arm, you really think you will have time to get up, turn on the lights, go to your safe, open your safe, retrieve your gun then be ready to confront a mad man? yeah right, by that time you and your family is done for.

or you can have some crack head ho stay at your house and let her steal it and trade it for more crack.lol. doesn't sound like he had a family bro. but i understand your point. my point was that i hope nobody got shot because of his carelessness. and would it have gotten stolen if he would have had it locked up? no, probably not. the safe would be used to lock up his collection of guns for when he is not home. use a little common sense, now that's a smart post.

LOL, yeah i guess your right on that circumstance. With a crack head staying on your couch you ought to lock up a gun in a big big safe as well as anything thats not nailed down.

They don't make safes big enough to hold my collection of guns. A bank vault would suffice...probably.

I believe the FN 5.7 was legalized when the Assault Weapons ban was lifted.
