So I went to a gun show this weekend and got a nice USP Compact .45 to carry. I had debated between this one and my full size, but I got the full size. Now I have both! Now if the great state of Virginia would hurry up with my CC permit
Next to my full size USP
Close up
Heres me carrying the gun, hardly even feel it.
Then monday night Zincognito and I went to a local gun shop. They had a nice a$$ AR-10 that the original owner couldnt afford. I had always liked this and the M-1A, but had of course picked up an M-1A Scout instead. It is an A2 Carbine with SS barrel. It came with 5 20 rnd mags and 4 10 rnd mags. Still had the silicon from the manufacturer, never been fired! It was $995 so I HAD to pick it up! Too bad I leave for Djibouti in a few weeks, not much time to shoot them.
Good idea getting the compact size, carrying conceal with a full size and your always aware of the gun. The compact size you dont feel it and still comfortable to drive with. I thought about the USP, but bought a Kimber Ultra Eclipse II ultra compact, a little smaller with a shorter barrel, but I use light grain GoldDots .45 to make up for it.
How long has it been for your license, it took me nearly 8months in texas, most only take 2-3 but I had some arrests in other countries that had to be clear up.
I like the Ar-10, power of a AK without the huge heavy slide to deal with
Compact was $750 and full size was $860 a few years ago. I was going to get an XD 45 but when I felt both of them, the HK won hands down. The XD felt to "Glocky"

and glocky must be bad the way your saying it
glock invented the plastic frame pistol
all others followed
i have alot of expertise in the gun field
sigma
sprinfeild armory
glock
h&k
kel tec
beretta
sti
and others all make lower plastic frames
glock IMO hands down the finest combat handgun , no matter what frame
How do you guys conceal a USP compact? I can't seem to pull it off. My full-size Kimber is easier to conceal. Grats on the pistol and the AR btw. Good looking stuff!

Well, I respect the Glock without a doubt as being a pioneer of polymer framed pistols. Ive shot several, and they are fine guns. But when I hold them they dont "feel" right, ya know? Maybe its just the texture and shape of the frame on the HK as opposed to the Glock. And the XD mirrored that to a degree.
Djibouti will be my home for the next year or so I am deployed there. I volunteered to make some money and see someplace new. Im getting bored being stateside.
The AR-10 does look like an M16, until you start letting loose with 7.62 rounds! For the AR I want to get the T model flat top upper and a nice MK4 scope, that should make it more interesting After I get back and have money that is!
Thanks for the compliments guys!
I bought a Para Ordinance Hog9 compact, it fits my hand better than any compact hands down. Downside, $850.00 price tag and the blue finish is sh!t. I knew this beforehand since the write up in a mag. talked about the poor finish. Shoots very well though.
Nice....I had a Armorlite AR-10. Scoped n all. Can't remember what the brand name was...cost me $600 just for the scope though. Had a red laser sight in it too (you just see it in the scope ONLY, not on the target). Good gun and I'd always tease the "50 cent wanna be's" with their AR-15s. lol. "My rounds are BIGGER than yours...na na na na naaaaaaaa na!". lmao. Nice 45s too. I rock a Ruger 9mm. P95 if I remember right. I don't carry it with me though. Just use it for home protection. She sits in my nightstand waiting for the dog to alert me of an intruder. I don't like the fact that the glocks don't have a safety. They feel "weird" when I hold them as well. The ruger just felt like it was made for me. Shoots damn good for a cheap hand gun. Think I paid $450 for mine.
