Question Gun Trade: Glock 26 for Sig P245 (nib)

Well I have wanted a Sig .45 for a while now and I really like the older P245 over the current P220 compact. I found a brand new P245 and the guy will take $650 for and give me $385 for my Glock 26.

For those that know firearms . . . does this seem like a fair deal to you?

This is my first firearm trade. I could prolly get $450 for my glock on a private sale, but the tax savings from doing a trade only make it a $20 difference in the end. Not worth my time or hassle finding a buyer.

Thoughts? Anyone have a P245 and care to share impressions?

Sig's are one of THEE top of the line firearms that tend to sell new for no less than $800 or so.

I guess it is a fair trade but I am not quite sure. You will definetly be getting a really good gun though.

Doesn't sound that bad. I have a 225 and a 228 and they are both quality guns.

You wouldn't get $450 for a 26 in a private sale either unless you were selling to an idiot.

Question

http://www.sigarms.com/Products/Show...x?categoryid=1

At the SIG site, I don't see the P245 listed. Was it discontinued? It first appeared in 1998.

Yeah the P245 was replaced by the P220 Compact. I dont like the extended beaver tail on the back of the newer 220 tho.

Well in my area a "like new" 26 with molded leather holster and 3 mags will fetch between 425-450 on the private market. We have a local forum with classified section and I have never seen a 26 go for lower than 400.

Doesn't this site have a thread about guns and who owns them?
