I took the Sig P245 and my Glock 23C on Saturday to do some shooting. WOW is all I can say. This being my first Sig, I can definitely say it wont be my last. It is one of the finest feeling handguns I have ever shot.
Target in my pictures was my first 2 clips @15 yards. Best I have ever shot for the first couple clips on a new gun. Definitely made my day.

Nice....I've shot a range rental of that gun before and liked it a lot......but I've actually owned a Glock 23C before and for me the Glock was my clear fave...they just fit my hands perfectly.
Yeah the 23C is the one pistol I have always kept. I traded a 26 in on the P245. I love the 23C, but for more fire power, the .45 is my new fav.

Nice, I might have to give this one a shot. I've been a huge H&K fan for the last few years, but I've been hearing more and more about people being happy with their Sigs.

i hate glocks as most people already know.. Sig's fit my hand perfectly.. they are the perfect weight.. and they have dead on accuracy.. Glock's always felt light and cheap to me
most people are brain washed by Glocks because the majority of the nations police force carry them.. yes they carry them because cops utility belts weigh like 30 lbs and they wanted to go with the lightest gun for their benefit.

yes. For a 45, the Sig is well balanced and weighted which makes minimal recoil, comparatively.
Both guns are very reliable and are great quality firearms. IMO, the Sig product is just a step up.
As for H&K . . . it was a toss-up. I knew I wanted to try either a Sig or H&K. I think I made the better choice, at least for me. I love having non composite frame gun in my collection again.

That is some pretty-nice grouping from that range.
Thanks. Like I said, that is some of the best shooting i have done on a first time firing. Next time I am going into the computer controlled range with the moving and rotating targets. That will be the true test of my personal defense abilities.

I carry the H&K the most. I have had a concealed carry permit since '95 and have logged extensive hours carrying each piece and others that I have since sold or dont see fit for carry. I am not a cop. But, I prefer the H&Ks for the out of the box accuracy and fit for me. Glocks just work. Plain and simple. But, they lack the accuracy of the H&K or Sigs out of the box. But, they are small, light, and priced right. So, most gun owners love em.
Also, for those who have fit issues, try getting a Hogue or similar type grip to slide over your pistol. They ensure the same hand position everytime you pick up your piece. They dont allow sweat to bother you, and they are dirt cheap.
BTW, I have been shooting since I was 12 and my glock 17 has been the most reliable gun I have ever owned. This is during shooting the bullshyt reloads at the range over the last 15 years.
-All of my guns were bought with personal defense and sometimes concealed carry in mind. So, thats how I evaluate them.

Took the words right out of my mouth. There is an upscale shooting range that does rifle, handgun and clay north of Los Angeles that I want to go to. They also have moving targets which I have never fired at with a handgun that I wish to try. I also wanna experience the sound of pinging steel plates.
I have a customised Springfield Armory XD .40. Supposedly, they are the most ergonomic and most intuitive guns to fire leading to incredible accuracy. A Springfield Armory XD .45 was awarded an accuracy award by a magazine a few issues ago. I have also shot rental 226's and I liked those. Glocks were okay. XD's FTW! lolz!
I would recommend that you always test shoot a gun before buying. Go to a range that has rentals or use a friends. That will keep you happy with your purchase. Also, some guns will surprise you.
I think we have one already but not sure. I have posted pics of my handgun in about two different threads on this board. Search for my username and keywords like 'Springfield'; 'Armory' and 'custom'.
