Finished my first AR build

Waaaay to much money in this damn thing but it's finally done. I'm still waiting on my rear site - should be here Monday but non the less I'll call it done for now.

I want to build one too. So much $$ though. What parts did you use? What stock,lower,upper, etc?

Only photo I could find of mine. Rock River arms Varmint with a custom shell catcher on it. Absolutely love this thing and it shoots really well.

Picking one of these up from my brother next week, he gave me a hell of a deal for it at $700.

I've got about $1,400 in mine and that will go up whenever I decide on which optics to go with.

Mega upper and lower
Bushmaster LPK
Vltor tube
Vltor compensator
LMT SOPMOD stock
LMT bolt and carrier
CMMG mid-length barrel
Larue 11" free float
Ergo grip
Troy front flip up sight (rear is in route)
Magpul trigger guard and several PMAGS

You can build one for about $700 if you search around for parts and are patient.

Anyone looking for one, I highly suggest www.ar15sales.com Best prices I've found. I got all the goodies on mine and only had to add the Harris Bipod and Leopold 50mm scope. I'm looking at adding a Magpul PRS stock. I was very satisfied with ar15sales.com I just checked their website and all their pricing says "call" but I only paid $889 shipped for my Varmint rifle.

Sweet. You should swap out your ergo grip to the first samco. What kind of optical system are you going to put on it?

I find the Ergo Grip is pretty comfy.

I'm either going to go with an Eotech or an ACOG. I just need to find the time to get out and test each out.

i use the eotech 512 on the bushmaster for fun and the m/11 in a class 3 competition each month and you will be very happy with it...

I'll probably go with the Eotech at first due to the cost then pick up an ACOG down the road because I really do like them both and what they have to offer.
