I'm getting married next month and moving into midtown Atlanta. My soon-to-be wife is a little worried about crime in the city and has read articles about people getting their doors kicked even in the nice apartment highrises. I'm looking to get her a taser to calm her down a bit since she won't join me in taking advantage of Smith & Wesson's current deal of getting a free grill with purchase of a .450 or .500 Magnum
What do you all recommend for her? I'm currently doing some research on my own but, it would be helpful to get feedback from the 350z community. Hopefully my mom can talk her into carrying the small .38 that she carries in her purse but, until then, the taser will have to do.

I assumed that you were planning to shock your fiancé. Like maybe she was misbehaving. I recommend that you set the gun to "stun."
id go with the wife be good stick if the wife is not behaving she get the stick,,,also for use when the wife doesnt go back to the kitchen fast enough.
His stereo was stolen out of his car.
His bike was stolen.
His tires were stolen.
His catalytic converter was stolen (weird I know).
His tail lights were stolen.
His car was stolen (old Honda Accord).
And if he wasn't 6'5" and mean, he probably would have been robbed or mugged numerous times.
Many of his neighbors have had similiar experiences.
sounds like a good idea. I would encourage her to go to self defense classes too. A lot of times, people who own weapons and don't know how to use them, get them used on themselves so she needs to learn how to use them. as in- if you have one, don't let the attacker see it. put it somewhere immediately accessable, not hidden, locked up, or in a hard to reach spot.
I'm a girl and i've done MMA (mixed martial arts) classes just for fun, which included a bunch of self defense (and offense haha) and I also typically carry pepper spray and some other object that can be used for defense (knife, pointy key, high heel, etc) - people may think I'm a paranoid fool, but ain't nobody gonna make a victim outta me! Plus I like to pretend I'm a bada$$. No guns yet, cuz I have no $$$ and I have enough dangerous toys at the moment.
Also be aware of the laws here in Cali. I don't think pepper spray is legal (got mine in connecticut, so don't tell! ) and the gun regulations are probably much stricter that in GA. so do your research, and just be aware (like don't leave pepperspray on the seat of your car where you might get in trouble for having it. Also, no gunracks in the back window of the pickup truck here LOL)
Also, tell your fiance to Be Aware and follow her instinct. Don't just trust people because you feel like a paranoid jerk for being suspicious. Usually there is a reason someone creeps you out. Get her the book The Gift of Fear. And have fun! Cali is an awesome place.
