Thought I'd share. Took this sow about a month and a half ago.

Story: Afternoon hunt, skipped out on my eye exam, when a couple of friends showed up. Hiked into the hills to a spot where they had seen some pigs a week before. Sat on a hill overlooking a buck brush and manzanita field. Saw a few deer push out, so one of the guys thought that most likely we wouldn't find anything.
After about a 30 min. sit out of the corner of my eye I see movement about 150 yards out. A white tipped tail moving back and forth. Followed by the tale tale sign of the pigs pushing the brush around and making the tops move. We tracked them for another 150 yards 15-20 min. Thinking they were going to bust out and get into a clearing. We were wrong they must have caught wind of us and doubled back on us.
We went back to our lookout and from there could see them on the move again. When they reached the center of the field they stopped. We waited what seemed like forever, with occasional slight movement by them.
Across the field about 200 yds out I see a coyote. My friend decides to take a shot at it. When he did, (which he missed) all hell broke loose. Pigs went running everywhere. There must have been at least a dozen. I missed three that were running up a hill at about 250 yards. Then dropped the one you see above at about 100 yards. This was my first pig. I shot her in the shoulder a little too high. I had forgotton that pigs squeal.
I had forgotton my handgun in the jeep so my friend volunteered to go in after it. He was carrying a Ruger Mini-14 (223). He had to shoot it again in the head.
My other friend also got one at the same time. You can see the legs in the pic.
This picture was taken on the way out, almost as an afterthought. The pig was already gutted and dragged a couple hundred yards, strapped onto a jeep before the pic was taken.
