This post does not deserve its own thread, but i don't care. I am excited.
i have always been a closet gun fanatic, satisfying my shooting addiction by way of my 357 Ruger Security Six revolver and occaisionaly renting automatics at the local range.
After getting my income tax refund i wanted to treat myself. Found an HK USP 9mm on consignment for $600, barely fired, pristine. Not a single streak on the barrel from the slide coming back.
After Dumbas$ DOJ + Arnie fees, i was out the door for close to 7. Share my joy and tell me how much you love your HK USPs.
BTW, I want to fondle and caress this gun, but have to wait till June 7th to pick up my baby. Wait period FTL
True, Jackie, my Sig shoots a hellofa lot better than my HK.
But I don't think my sig is up to the rigors of field abuse that you can put an HK through. My P220 has tighter tolerances, that while make it a more accurate pistol means it's more prone to failure if I'm abusing it.
That being said, I got to fire a USP tactical (basically a socom without the threaded barrel and a few other minor changes) and the thing was a tack driver.
I love how they feel when loading, unloading. I've only shot the .45, but I'm sold on the design if I was ever to consider a 9mm. Something about the ambi release and safety.

There was a Sig I nearly bought for around the same price in good condition but definitely used. It felt great in my hand and the weight was good too.
In the end I enjoy shooting both but made the decision based on weight, and all the rave reviews I have heard about the HKs reliability.
very nice, I have one myself. Let me know if you wanna go to the range sometime. I usually go every other weekend.
Im looking for a .45 now and it is a toss up between H&K and S&W M&P

Funny, thats where I have been going. I'll shoot you a pm when I go next. Would'nt mind hitting up a longer range though.
BTW, One thing I do like on the M&P is the grip. Very comfy for a bigger hand. That was one I considered!
cool, sounds good.
The M&P actually comes with 3 interchangeable grips. I fell in love with the .40 after I bought it.

Good choice. Now i guess you have to get a Sig. I like both my USP tac tickle and Sig 226 elite. Trigger feels better on a Sig with the SRT trigger, but the USP shoots a little bit more accurately IMO.
Meantime i just saw a new USP Expert .45 at a local gunshop for 1100 bucks. Had to have a friend pry it out of my hands before i bought it.
Here's my P2000SK 9mm. I've yet to have a single FTF or jam of any sort on any H&K that I've owned. They are reliable as hell and fit perfectly in my hand.
Also pictured is my H&K USP .40, sold it to buy a USP .45 but have yet to find a deal on the .45 as of yet.

Magnolia indoor range no longer exists. I live in Santee right around the corner from MIR on Mission Gorge and it was a shame to see it close shop. I used to go there quite a bit.
The next closest is either American Shooting in Kearny Mesa or Project 2000 in El Cajon.
I loved my USP, sold it to get a Kimber TLE - what a mistake. Loved that HK. Definite hand cannon. Probably one of the most diehard pistols I have ever owned. Building ARs has been my hobbie lately.
