Default My guns.....

sorry if this type of thread is a repost (mods, you can merge if needed). i didn't see a generalized "show me your guns" thread.

anyway, i am not new to weapons, but new to being a gun owner of sorts.

wanted something for home defense, the first thing to come to my mind was "shotgun". so i went and looked around and i LOVED the Benelli line. so i picked up a Supernova with pistol grip......

here are a few things that bothered me at some point and met the 12 gauge.

flat beer mini-keg..........

here it is getting hit with a slug...........

and since HD-DVD was worthless, why not shoot it?

Toshiba might have a future in ballistic armor, this thing took a good amount of abuse from a 12 gauge at close range.

i then picked up a little Marlin .22 for randomly hitting things off my back fence. nothing special, probably gets the most use since it is quiet and cheap to shoot.

while i was home this April on R&R leave, i talked to wife into letting me pick something else up. i picked a Remington 770 chambered in .243. i love this gun. in hind sight, the Rem 700 was a better deal, but hey.......still a nice weapon.

here is me knocking off a PBR can, lol.......

then there is my general carry stuff..........

because i hate rice!

and what i have been carrying lately.......

enjoy!

An old family portrait, I only have one gun but plenty of rifles, pistols, and handguns.

Benelli M4 and a M16A2!

dude, i love the military issue 12ga rounds, you can count the balls!

the pic would have been better had you focused on the rounds and let the weapons be the background. just my opinion anyway, looks great either way!

^ Sellier does US military ammo? I thought only a few European countries, then with similar shells from Wolf for the Russians.

US military 12 gauge I thought was from Winchester, and has the pellets coated to prevent rust and powder damage in long term storage and humidity.

Look like these:

Anyways nice guns, but why the hell did you use bird shot? Buck is were the fun is at.

Unless you have small hands, you might be better off with the XD versus the XDm.
I bought a Xdm and it's a great gun, but like my XDs better, especially when you get some DecalGrip put on(picture doesnt show, but I have now).

And dont forget 1911s, still my favorite of pistols.

go XD or Glock .40... these two are pretty wide spread. And there's something to be said about guns that are easily maintained.

How do you like the 5.7 round? I've heard mixed reviews.

For handguns, I like the Sig P220. Anyhow on the M16, how is your cheek weld for the scope? Seems pretty high to have a consistent weld.

honestly, when i use the scope, i don't even touch my face to the stock. i kind of lay behind the weapon due to the scope's eye relief. this is in the prone supported (i wish i had a bipod) position. firing from the shoulder is easier than you might think, but even then, no cheek touches the stock.

the scope is nothing fancy, just a cheapo NC Star 3x9. normally i prefer a m16a4 with an ACOG, but since i switched over to MI (in an aviation unit), the weapon choices are slim, lol. if need be, the scope has a pass through so i can use the iron sights.

Okay.... I'll contribute to the sickness

The Glock family ... G20, G22, G23, and G27 with CT (the new G22 RTF is sweet!)

The XD family .. XD9, XD9SC with Duracoat, XD45, and XDM-40

The Mice .... Keltec P32/ P3AT, and Kahr PM9

A couple of oldies inherited from my grandpa... Colt 1903 that belonged to his grandma and is over 100 years old. And the 1911 that was born in 1918.

I have a few more in various shapes and sizes but am too lazy to drag them all out and make them walk the runway.

I see there are a couple XDM owners here. How do you like them as opposed to the XD? I want one but havent handled one yet. I love my XD and its what I carry everywhere. Check out the wear charatcer.
