It's a really popular sight for the AR platform. There are some reviews, and torture test scattered around various sights. The general conclusion-for it's price you can't get better.
I have one mounted on one of my AR's and have no complaints. Sight is easy to use, always an option for the correct brightness, very rugged, as mine has had some rather hard knocks, left out in the rain, shook around in the back of a truck bed, and no problems at all. It does weight quite a bit, so if your aiming to build a light AR, this is not an option. Battery life is so-so, but of course, it's no ACOG, but it then, it too doesnt cost $1000.
I would buy it again. Oh, and it does co-witness perfectly on a flat top AR.
There were some minor issues with the early models, mainly the a canted reticule. Mine has that, but it's rather minor, so I never bother trying to replace it.
If you're building some fancy gun, and are going to a shooting school, then you're better off with a one of the big names. Other then that, it should serve you well.
Mine is going close to 3 years old, and always held zero, and done what I've ask of it.
What else can be ask for $200, a really cheap price in the aspects of scopes.
thanks guys. ill be looking for that better price tonight after work. Ill be doing some training with a couple of guys but Im going to give this a try. Ill ber buying one of the aimpoints after all the training is done.
I picked up a vortex strikefire for my ps90 and it worked great! They have AWESOME customer service and a lifetime warranty. I got mine for under $150 w/mount and 2X magnifier. You may want to take a look at it.
Had it on mine. Took me 5 min to get it all sighted in using a bore sighter and it was pretty good. I would take it off the gun to stow it and when I put it back on it would still be sighted in. Other than the tilted reticule on mine, no other issues what so ever. Love that it had a fixed "iron" sight on top and dual illuminations in which I didn't think it was a big deal until you actually use it.
with the dms-1, you are looking at closer to 200 then you need a decent mount so thats another 50+. Thats 100 bucks over the bushnell. Both are good, but bang for your buck bushnell is hard to beat.
