Really?
Allowing deer to go unchecked, it actually more harmful to them. Too many deer will ravish the land quickly, and not allow the young to eat when food is limited. They too start to spill out into roadways, and neighborhoods. Also some other animals rely on the fact that food is so plentiful, the deer will not eat it from them.
So let's just pen the deer up, raise them to be eaten, then it will all be OK with the OP and we get grain fed deer...I never really got the it was raised to be killed so it's ok argument.
Dead is dead. no matter how the animal was raised.
I'm at the top of the food chain and I enjoy being in the lead!

Bahahaha I think it's hilarious when people take this stance. Would you rather they become overpopulated, successfully increasing the number of predators and ruining the land AND dying of starvation (sounds likean uncomfortable way to die to me), or would you rather we kill them in likely the least painful way for them, AND we enjoy their meat? Sounds like a win win...

The hunted species mass reproduce hence the need to thin the herd. plus wow you arent going to get alot of meat out of a sondbird even though you CANT kill them as they are a protected specie How many songbirds have you seen wreck a car, destroy acres of farmland, etc. OP you really need to pull your head out of your azz.
BTW i just put a arrow through one of your deers! Steaks, sausage, jerky OH MY....
Why haven't other species of animals like songbirds or chipmunks or frogs or any other non-hunted animal taken over the world yet?
idwin is right....
It's a hunted species for a reason....
get online, read some articles, etc.......now, im talking serious articles, not other tree huggers and deer lovers articles on how killing bambi is bad..
for example, just like others mentioned, here in TX if it isnt controlled with hunting deer will ruin all that others have mentioned, farm land, starve food, etc...it will straight up ruin the eco-system for the area..........and there is a LOT of deer hunting area in TEXAS and the near by cities will feel the effects.
READ THOSE TYPE OF ECO studies and animal population studies, FACTS, not...oh my, dont kill bambi articles.........then you can educate yourself on the reason...
ON THE SAME NOTE - me being a hunter - I would turn in a poacher anyday!!!
see, here in TEXAS and in most places hunting liscences are given and it will specifically say (based on that years eco-study) how many DOE's and how many BUCKS you can kill!
Trust me. if a GAME WARDEN pulls you over because your showing off your dead deer on the back of your truck HE WILL check your liscence:
no liscence - JAIL, fines up the wazzzoooo!!!
if you killed more than your allowed for the season - oh hell, kiss your azz good bye in jail and fines......
see, its more than your "please dont kill deer, eat a cow" ..........there is governing premise to it all.......
you seem under educated on the matter or straight up ignorant.....
