I saw this a while back on xdtalk, I still trust my XD with my life.

5000 trouble free rounds and I expect many more.

Of course it can. Whoever the shooter was probably was reloading and simply reloaded a round too hot thus resulting in the Kb. I just threw this up here because I heard somewhere that Springfield, during the testing phase of the XDs, tried to Kb one but couldn't... I guess that was b.s.

Do the XD's have the same issues with reloads that golcks do? It looks like a Glock kaboom from where a reload lined up with the notch in the chamber in the same place it did on the original shot.

Negative. Glocks have problems with Kbs when idiots reload their **** too hot. Glock says to ONLY shoot factory ammo, however, as long as you're experienced at reloading you'll be fine. The reason being behind this is Glock's chambers are NOT fully supported. Of course a Kb could still happen even if it were, but that's the basis for why Glock's seem to experience more Kbs than most brands. Doesn't matter to me either way. I love Glocks. Have a few Glocks and they've all functioned flawlessly (not a single malfunction with ANY of them). I have no experience with XDs so I cannot speak on their behalf however.

I put 200 rounds through my XD40 subcompact and I am pleased with the precision and overall quality of the gun.

what I am not convinced with yet is the rear grip safety. twice out of the 200 rounds I didn't fire when I tried to - mainly after getting a little hand fatigue of shooting loading shooting loading shooting loading .. but still.

I wish there was a way to get rid of it all together. I don't want the one time that I need it to go boom that I am full of adrenaline and have a sloppy grip.

Is there a point to overfilling with powder? Does it provide a higher velocity out of the barrel? Or is it done by accident when reloading one's own cartridges?

yes spork, more powder does equal more velocity, obviously until the point that this happens. the most likely scenario in this case is:

the reloader was using a powder measure (device that meters and dispenses powder so you don't have to weigh each charge)

the reloader was charging multiple cases at a time and accidentally charged this one twice.

Which is why I buy Glocks. Every safety is immediately disengaged when the trigger is pulled. Not a fan of safeties at all on firearms used for defensive purposes. I have a Springer TRP which obviously has a safeties similar to the XD as it's a 1911 and is also made by S.A. however it is strictly a range toy. I do however hope to have it upgraded to the Professional Operator model someday. I just don't have 2 Gs to drop on a sidearm at this point in my life. Money could and needs to be spent elsewhere.

Ya, except factory +P won't Kb on you. I shoot +P on a very regular basis through my 3rd Gen Glock 17 and have yet to experience a single problem.
