So after we have spent $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ of dollars on our cars , you want FREEEEEEEEE advice. I could be wrong, but this might not go well.

I am not built, but there are somethings I do wish I had done differently.

I wish that instead of spending all my money so far on making the car faster in a straight line (TT, RFS, clutch/flywheel, boost controller, etc.) I wish I had gone all out on suspension stuff first, and got myself a really sweet set of coilovers and a top-of-the-line diff. I would then have waited to do the whole FI thing until I could afford a EMS like the FCON and fully built motor with heads and cams all at once.

I, might be alone in thinking this but when last I checked, the part of the point of the forum is for free advice. If you could save me a ton of money in a way that would cost you literally nothing, then why wouldn't you?

I dont know if you are serious. If you are, thats the type of thinking that makes me not want to share my experiences with the community anymore, why potentially help you if your not doing the same? Good luck with your build.

Getting to the OP's question:

*Better EMS from the start, but at the time FCON was only choice and having a locked down EMS wasnt an option!

*L19's instead of 1/2" studs

*No sleeves, but again at the time they were thought to be required for 550+whp

*If I hadnt done sleeves, and studs I could have likely done some mild headwork which would have proven beneficial.

*HKS DLI ignition, while I did feel smoother throttle response, who knows what if anything its doing for me, $$$$ better spent elsewhere

*Braille 11.5lb battery, POS died on me within 1 week of having it? Actually 10 min with the HU on and car off = dead Replacement was also garbage. Perhaps 15lb is better

*Wish I had done crazier cams other than JWT S1, but midrange TQ was nasty. BC stage 3 should pull like a raped ape up top

EDIT
*Wish I had "just" done Eagle rods, Pauters are nicer but for my power levels Eagles would have been more than fine and I could have saved $600

Let me add some things, I DONT regret:

*Carbonetics triple disc clutch, if it can handle my abuse, it can handle yours

*Koyo radiator, cheap and effective

*SS clutch line, made clutch pedal feel much better

Ok, Im done

I don't have a light weight battery, and can't see ever buying one for the Z either. You can save just as much weight by just not filling your gas tank all the way. Good to know that it was garbage though.

- I regret putting a rod through my block. That's something you should probably avoid.

- I wish it would have happened a year later because there's a big difference even over the last year in what is known to work. +1 on what Alberto said about cams. I wish I had originally gone with some nastier ones (C2's are allright though).

- I wish I knew how to weld so I could fab up my own custom piping.

- I regret going with solid motor mounts. They make the motor sound like ass.

- I regret buying RC injectors. They have a tendency to suck.

Im sorry but why would you take this thread OT with such a retarded question? You'd be hard pressed for anybody spending tons of $$$ to say "I regret having XXX shop work on my car", unless its VRT or AAM. That is another issue, for another thread, the experiences of several shops have been posted time after time, the info is out there.

This thread was going good...

I was just playing....I saw how some of the guys were getting p!ssy in the other thread, so I was just messin with them. People that know me know that I would give my last dollar to someone who needed it more than me.

Now you take back that "I hope you blow your motor" comment , especially since I will be getting back my car this weekend with a new built motor. I will hold you and Bert personally responsible if my motor blows and I will haunt you at ZDAYZ

Hey wait I thought mine would be done this weekend!

Hopefully they will finish mine first because it's obviously the faster car.
