Whoah dude. . .whoah. . .read through the entire thread. . .amazing. . .
still in awe of your fabrication skillz and your drive for this project, keep it going!
I was going to go with a near-complete Nismo setup for the vq, but decided to go twin turbo. . .
I've been pretty busy this summer with work, family events and drifting and haven't had a lot of time dedicated to the s14. . .
I'm interested to see how it will fit with everything assembled. One issue I'm having right now is a part of the engine is resting on the steering rack. I'll be taking it out later and grinding it down so it'll fit properly. This is as low as the engine can go without having any contact with the x-member itself. The VQ swap kit imo isn't worth what they're charging. . .

Yeah I read through your thread and a couple others and it seems to me the vqswap kit is a joke really, I can say this from experience having used it myself, luckily I got my kit cheap second hand so I can justify making my own. I couldnt believe they sent you a crossmember that wasnt even for your car and then had enough nerve to argue and say that it was the right crossmember. Thats just bad business.

Wow dude, a million props! Amazing project, I can't believe you have the patience to deal with all that. I did a coupe front-end conversion on my sedan and that was a pain in the ***... nothing compared to what you're doing! Good luck with everything, can't wait to see the final product!

So, apparently I haven't logged into my350z.com since May 7 this year. Not THAT long, I know, but your build thread compelled me [and more] to log back in and SUBSCRIBE.
You, sir, are incredible, awesome, ridiculously insane, [insert more praising adjectives here], and overall, just a beast.
Seriously, your build is absolutely extraordinary. MASSIVE PROPS TO YOU.
I can't wait to see more.
Good luck to you, sir.

How much room is in between your crossmember and the motor? Mine clears fine but there is a little interference with the hood, which is fine nothing a little modification to the hood wont take care of. If you would like a better mount setup than you have, I would be willing to modify your crossmember so you can use Nismo Skyline R33 mounts like I have. It wouldnt cost you much considering you already have the rest of the kit. PM me if you are interested....

I meant to take a measurement pic of the clearance but never got to it. . .It sits pretty close to it, less than 1" above the x-member. . .I'm not sure how much closer it will bring it once I grind away the ribbing on the other side. . . I might modify another x-member I have or modify this one, and position the mounts a little further back, that might help with clearance on the steering rack . . .

Not much accomplished this weekend other than we fixed one of the rust holes in the floor board and welded all the nuts in place for the core support to be a bolt on/removable setup:
