Update on my SGP trans situation:

In light of the discovery of stock clutches in Marshall's SGP trans that was supposed to be fully built (like mine), I have decided to have my trans torn down and inspected prior to install.

I have discussed the situation with Han at Intense. I hate to have another delay with my car project, but it's something that has to be done for peace of mind and longevity before we throw the power we intend to on my 5AT. I want to be sure that everything is upgraded the way it is supposed to be. Unfortunately, this means my G will not be ready for HIN on March 14th.

I need to determine the nature of the relationship between Canadian and Chris, the trans builder in LV to decide if it is a "safe" place to send my trans. I realize Chris is a Nissan master tech and that folks speak highly of his work, but I want to make sure that I do not put my trans in potentially hostile hands. I was concerned when info was "leaked" in this thread about Marshall's trans before Marshall (the customer) and/or Intense (the customer's shop) were informed.

Therefore, I have contacted Tim at Speed Force Racing who also does full 5AT trans builds. Tim and I had a nice chat. At this point, I'd feel much more comfortable sending my trans to SFR. I intend to discuss the matter further with Intense before I make a final decision on where my trans will be sent.

gl bro, hopefully istan can chime here a lil about the relationship of canadian and chris....i doubt chris gives even a lil damm about him honestly

I hope for the best for you Rude. I know how it feels to pay for stuff twice - this is exactly how I started out.

Marshall - you should sue SGP.

Thanks Stan!!! I enjoyed chatting with you. I look forward to meeting you and hanging out sometime soon, once Jorge and I get our rides back and take a road trip to Vegas.

I would on principle, but you have to consider that cross state lines to sue for $4,000 when you know the defendant is not likely to be financially sound, may not make sense. I would love to get my $4k back plus incidentals ($1500 for towing/rental; shipping, etc). I spoke to my attorney briefly, but he doesn't do this type of litigation. He is referring me to another attorney in his office, but he indicated that it would cost a decent amount to pursue.

tack 4 or 5 of us together and we may have a good case for an attorney if we split fees?

Not a bad idea. I just wonder about the fact that we are all in different states.

I wasn't considering a civil suit. Not worth the legal fees and hassle for $4000 IMO. I'd rather spend my money on other things (like the car project) than on attorneys.

BUT... I'm thinking about going after him CRIMINALLY if I find out that I didn't get what I paid for. I have no problem with presenting evidence of fraud to Houson P.D. for prosecution. If convicted, restitution will be part of any sentencing and I won't have to pay an attorney to get it.

I'm beyond begging this guy for MY fawking SHIAT anymore. He's put a dent into my personal life, financial life, my "means to travel to work", etc... I've been saying it for a while but I'm dead fawking serious now and if anybody wants to get on the PWNtrain PM me and let's discuss what options we have for pressing charges, civil, BBB, etc...

^^^ Thanks for the support guys!

I feel REALLY BAD for iamdigital. He is still waiting to get his trans back from SGP and he was waiting longer than me before I started to raise hell on this thread to get mine back!!!

FWIW, I recommend he or an authorized representative show up at SGP with police escort to demand that the trans be released immediately. If Mark refuses to release the trans on the spot, he can be arrested for theft.

under $5000 try small claims court.

It will cost very little and no lawyers are required. IMHO Small Claims courts are some of the best outlets in our system since I think most places it costs less than $100 to file.

It was good talking to you Rude. Han should have some options for you. It does suck about missing HIN though. You could always reschedule to HIN San Mateo. I'm sure the NorCal peeps wouldn't mind seeing you. OR, do you want to reschedule for HIN Chandler in December? That's my BDay Weekend.

To everyone else with SGP problems, my condolences.

Edit: PS- does anyone know exactly what is supposed to be a part of SGPs tranny upgrade?

Rude - can't you just push your car in to the show at HIN. I don't know much about HIN since the show closest to me was cancalled this year, but you could at least get there and treat your G like a trailer queen for the weekend.

Just a thought.

Couple of thoughts here..... IIRC from the Hennesy stuff that was linked a long time ago, you possibly can sue SGP in your local jurisdiction and make them fight in your backyard. Also, the idea of a quasi-class action suit sounds like the way to go since it seems like similar issues for everyone. Lastly, you should ask your attorney if he/she can either work on a contingent fee basis (they get paid out of your damages) or see if you can sue for recovery of attorney fees + money paid to SGP at the minimum.
