Default Synapse Synchronic BOV

Going to be picking up a BOV and I have been reading some mixed reviews about the new Synapse Synchronic Bov. There hasnt been much talk about this Bov but the concept and design seem to be very good.

Watching and Hearing videos makes me think that it greatly reduces flutter that other BOV's have like the HKS,Tial etc.

Granted it doesnt sound anything like the competition but I want to beleive that this is a really well designed BOV. Here are some videos.

Discuss.

Installed On a R35 GTR

Are there any vendors on here that sell them?

I've talked a couple times with the owner of Synapse, he's a cool guy. Solid engineering and racing background. The BOV is well designed from a theoretical/engineering standpoint, however I can't comment on the actual performance gain or build quality, since I've never used or tested them before.

I think turbochargers and superchargers are even bigger and uglier than the BOV.
Compare the size and looks of turbochargers and superchargers to a set of well made stainless or inconel NA headers..
However, looks aren't everything..

I was intrigued by these a while back when they first came out. They sound promising. I've been waiting to see some reviews on here. Still waiting. In the meantime, I'll stick with the Tial 50mm until the Synapse BOV is proven to be superior.

I think engine space will be the determining factor. on the aps kits they barely fit the aps bov which is big, but the one your talking about is huge if I remember correctly. are cars don't have flutter like evos or other cars so I think that's why a lot of people are concerned with this bov.

I have this on my APS TT kit. It fits just fine and is only marginally larger than the APS BOV. In terms of functionality, it is a piston type like the APS one, so essentially it about the same IMHO. It definitely is louder than the APS BOV.

I'm also waiting for reviews on their Synchronic wastegate too.

I had one on my 850BB's its a good looking BOV and sounds great IMO, however the only thing I did not like is it dumps all the boost pressure instantly so if your racing you will drop to neg vac during every shift and in turn will have to build that lost boost, and that makes a big difference, when drag racing (if your into that) other than that I loved it!! I found that with the greddy or HKS if you shift fast enough you can keep it from falling under 0 psi when shifting...

Cheers

Hmmm... That doesn't sound so good. So maybe a sequential BOV like the HKS SSQV is a better alternative?

HKS doesn't compressor surge if it's working right . ... it's SUPPOSED to make that "flutter" noise at low boost.

I think this is something I would want to try. My friend says he loves his. Did have any boosting problems. I have a vortech kit. I'm trying to figure out what flange will bolt up to the stock vortech BPV. Does anyone know?

true, you can tell a bov flutter from compressor surge. the hks ssqv flutters at lower psi but is a high pitch purge if i may at higher psi

RudeG, I don't think what Luie describes would affect a 5AT since there is no throttle lift...
