JE Pitons 94m
i know stock bore is 95.5mm, i ordered a set of stock bore 95.5m JE pistons, on the receipt/order they say 95.5mm, but on the pistons itself it says 94mm... am i missing something here.. or they just gave me the wrong ones?... also these were special ordered 9:1 compression.. on the JE website you only see 8.5:1 and 10.8:1 pistons avail for the vq35de

i just got home. the top part of the piston measured 94mm (where the rings sit) the rest of the pistons/bottompart/skirt measured at 95.5mm... im guessing this is how pistons are??? and why two diff sizes? why only 94m printed on the back and not 95.5m also?

To accurately measure a piston, you have to measure it at the location specified by the manufacturer or you may get an inaccurate reading.

No, the number on the bottom is a forging number. JE will soon be laser marking part numbers on new pistons to make future identification easier.
9. How do I know my piston to wall clearance, and where do I get the measurement?
We also supply a piston spec sheet with our pistons to use as a guideline for piston to wall clearances that shows the correct measuring point. If you have any doubt give us a call and we will explain how to measure it.

The crown of the piston will always be a smaller diameter than the skirting as it sees the most heat and therefore expands the most.
