I dont even think fayetteville is a 1/4 mile track. The 'race results' they have up there are 1/8t mile times.
But either way, goin to step up from the 1/8th and hit the 1/4 pretty soon. They got test and tune on friday the 25th at the Rock, so maybe i'll hit i that.
rockingham (~100 miles) is closest and prolly less crazy than Zmax in concord (~130 miles). weather is getting perfect.
last thurs the track prep at dunn benson was great. there was a sick huge single mustang out there running like 6.0 in the 1/8th at like 120. when those dumps opened, holy smokes.

Anyway good show
Are you on stock clutch? Iam running 370tq with the vortech.. and with stock clutch it used to hook up 2nd gear, but go nowhere ( slipping ) with new clutch.. im just like OP or worst.. 3-4th tires start to roast!

No not on stock clutch. ACT heavy duty with street disc and ACT prolite Flywheel. When I launch from the 1st I slip it pretty hard but still start to lose traction around 5000rpm hit 2nd still slipping but comes out pretty quickly. No traction problems in 3rd or 4th at all. That is crazy i would expect to get loose in 3rd and 4th with an alberto set up but not a stock block. What tires are you on?

Thanks! Here is a dyno graph of my car. I'm only making 350wtq.

Nice runs, the car sure moves well. I can't wait to get back out with a VLSD (had the open diff last time) and 3.3 FD. Looks like you are going across the line in 5th, must be 3.9fd.
The wheel hop was not near as bad as the last time I ran my car and that was when it was stock and had 245/45/18 Toyos. I'm sure it will be eliminated when I get even better tires and the 275/40/18 Dunlop Sport Maxx's that I just put on are still are not enough. I'm looking into some Mickey Thompsons but just need to figure out the rims and size / diameter (I'm running stock size 225/45/18's on the front still) so it doesn't mess with my VDC and I don't get issues with it thinking there is something wrong and my slip light being on. From my estimation it looks like I will need a 26" tall tire so I will have to figure out how to make this happen with a 16" or 17" rim that will fit my bolt pattern, be the right offset and wide enough to mount a 9.5" or 10" slick on it, any advice would be much appreciated. I also just have the stock 3.5FD
Here are some pics of my camera mount:

Man and your running decent tires too. That is crazy. I running Toyo TR1's and like I said not probs hooking up after 2nd gear. and very little in 2nd. Owell you will be running in the 12's in no time. Keep shifting like a gangster but as many have said be careful with that wheel hop. and maybe some 3.3 gears

Iam running 275s in the rear.. going to upgrade to 295s soon.. the 275s are pretty bald too so lol.
i just bought aluminum square bar today to make my camera mount. i'll be too embarassed to post my vids though i suspect
in terms of camber, road is not ideal for track. you really want about ~+.5* for the track so when the car squats you are ~0*, full contact. my tires definately show camber wear from the squats. I think i'm at like -2* now and its like -3 or 4* after the squat

otherwise weld pro stars with like a 5.5 backspace and 5x4.5 bolt pattern and sweet 15" slick is 10000000% the way to go!
So with those ebay rims would a tire like this work? http://www.jegs.com/i/Mickey-Thompson/672/3792/10002/-1 I think the rims there on Ebay are only 8.5" I have some 16" TSW rims that are 7.5" sitting in my garage that I believe would bolt up to my Z (don't have brembo's), could I just get some M/T's for those and save a buck or two? What does " Mickey Thompson ET Street Drag Tire 26'' x 10.5'' - 16''LT" mean? I assume 26" tall and for a 16" rim but does that mean 10.5" wide? If my TSW's are just 7.5" wide what is the widest M/T I could put on them?

drag tires are sized by surface patch, which is the widest distance across the tire. that helps you choose your rim size. You also need to look at tread width as that can vary quite a bit from the same size slicks between vendors.
So that 26"x10.5" has a 10.5" surface patch and a 8.5" tread, meaning that the sidewalls stick out 1" futher on each side than the tread.
you could prolly use a 10" tire on a 7.5" rim with some ballooning. but thats ok bc its a drag tire and not a street tire. 10.5 would be too wide for a 7.5" would be ok for an 8.5"

Thanks for the clarification! I just looked at my TSW rims and they are 7" Think I can get away with using those on a 10.5" tire (the ones without tubes that you suggested) or would I be ballooning too much? Last thing, will my VDC have issues with a 26" tire? I wonder how much it would shrink the diameter if I make them balloon too much and cause my slip light to come on with my 7" rims
