Oil bearing clearance high WHP

I was going to assemble myself but it's at the machine shop and I may get them to do that part so the clearances can be on point. I'll do the remaining myself.
I've read so much and most say just go w the std, which is why I got the std sized acl's. I haven't opened them yet and can send back for an exhanexhange if I can get the correct answer on them.
I'd like to soon as I have rods in hand and pistons are on the way. Any help is appreciated, thanks

You're gonna want more. I'd suggest talking this over with your machinist. There are some oldschool rules of thumb that can apply, but everyone has their own school of thought. I wouldn't like the idea of running less than the .003X neighborhood on something over 500whp. But it does depend on what oil you plan on running based of the temps you see in your area, what you want the car to do, etc.

Id like to track it a tiny but doubtful it'd see the track but once or twice per year if any. Drag strip...prob not but if I do, it wouldnt be too much at all.
Mainly just want it to be a gun street-able weekend toy to sum it up on what I want it for. I'd like to not have to worry about snapping a rod or spinning a bearing.

I tried using the ACL STD and got .0015mm clearance
I used ACL HX bearings and I couldn't get a higher clearance than .0025
If I wanted bigger clearance the machine would have to grind down the crank

See what your machinist has to say. Tell him all your goals. Both long and short term.
Just because you track it only once or twice, doesn't mean you can all of a sudden run tighter clearances.

Got mine back in hand and here are the clearances.
Mains: .0025-.0027
rods: .0026-.0028
trying to get opinions from a couple different people on which type/weight of oil to break in and then after break in. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks, and then after the break in, still going to use the 10-40 (of course full synthetic) ? Had some suggesting some valvoline 15w-40 but not Rotella though.
Edit. And by the way, I ended up using half and half on the rod bearings to get my clearances: hx series and std. The hx's alone ended up being a little too loose And not sure if the crank had ever been worked on either.

So this is out of the FSM,
MAIN BEARING OIL CLEARANCE Standard : 0.035 - 0.045 mm (0.0014 - 0.0018 in)
Limit : 0.065 mm (0.0026 in)
CONNECTING ROD BEARING OIL CLEARANCE Standard : 0.034 - 0.059 mm (0.0013 - 0.0023 in)
Limit : 0.070 mm (0.0028 in)
So should clearances be set at .04X for ~500Whp or what?
