very similar, the engine dosnt actually know its ingesting more air it simply pumps a volume, that volume is a higher density but its still the same volume, hence why things that improve NA drop boost pressure for the same power because the engine is pumping more volume.

I'm still working on the wiring and have it all worked out in the engine bay. I ordered the missing connectors I needed for the knock and crank sensors and they showed up today and thankfully were the correct ones; I should get the pins in tomorrow. All the extra wires are going to be run to a connector so they can be used in the future if I need them. Once I’m done with the wiring I’ll start back on the remote oil housing and manifold. I’m designing a bracket for one of those standard oil filter housing to mount off to the side of the transmission.

I look forward to updates to this thread, I have been watching it for a while now. Last summer I did a light but decent turbo VR6 build for my friends Mark 4 R32. It sounds amazing and pulls away from my 550whp 370z. keep up the good work.

I am laughing at all the guys saying how expensive VRT's are to build and that they need internals for decent power.

A few years ago I found a video of an S3 with vr6 swap. From there I found the USP car...

Vr6 motors are sick.
ROAD WAS CLOSED FOR THIS, so mods DON'T BE WEAK. WE ALL KNOW STREET RACING IS ILLEGAL, IMMORAL, IRRESPONSIBLE, AND GENERALLY VERY IMMATURE.

If you look around for 0-400 there are a few videos of that car on the street. It's batshit awesome. I want an awd hatch like that so bad. Wastegate firing under the car on launch, tons of grip, sick sound... nom nom.

EDIT:
Run's 8's.

End thread jack

I got the oil filter housing bracket designed and out to be waterjet cut out of 1/4" aluminum. I also test fit the A/C compressor and it fit with about 1/8 of room from the motor mount, but it does leave me with good access to the ports to make the A/C hoses. I plan to finish the oil system and then move on the the power steering, A/C and Alternator. Once I get that all worked out I'll finish the intake manifold and then move on to the fuel system.

I finally got my oil filter housing bracket so I can get the oil system done this coming week. This bracket bolts to the bellhousing and hangs of the side leaving the oil filter nice and accessible. The next step will be to fill the engine and tranny with oil and prime the engine’s oil system and see if the gauge registers.

Very nice! I miss having access to a waterjet to make custom brackets and parts with.

I got the oil lines made and installed today. I also borrowed a buddies turbo to see what kind of room i had to work with. I now have a good idea how i want the turbo manifold to look. Also, my new BBK 70mm throttlebody is on the way.

70mm is more than enough, I also got a great deal on it. 2JZ-GTE TB is 65mm at the throttle plate and they make great power with those.

Great explanation, but tweaked to word what you meant to say

Absolutely awesome build, glad to see everything coming along so nice and smooth! Can't wait to see this finished, major props on all of the awesome fab work. Interesting motor choice, one that I didn't know a lot about until reading this thread. I may have to look into this more!

So I got the engine oil system primed and did a compression test. With the engine cold as it sits, it averaged 150psi with no cylinder being way off. The oil filter is easy to get to and is a very common filter, Fram PH8A. I’ll get a better filter after the first change.

I got the power steering and water pump installed. I was able to figure out the P/S lines and they should be here Tuesday from my guy in Tallahassee. For the feed to the P/S pump I am bending a hard aluminum line from the stock reservoir down and over to the pump; It'll look good when it's done.
