Sfr takeover
Tim at SFR has made some nice attachments for the Z...future pieces/projects are trunk monuted battery with custom Aluminum access doors for water/meth and battery, custom coolant reservoir, winshield washer tank, larger power steering cooler and mounting, catch can, quick release front bumper ala toxicfab push pin quick release connectors (really cheap at JEGS (50 for two instead of full kit for 200). Gold zspeed undertray is being made easier to remove also, all for ease of maintenance.
GTM piping was rerouted and most silicone couplers were eliminated with welding or Tim's IC pipe connectors.
Everything going to the coater withing a week (I hope).

From what I understand, the metal couplers can handle very hi boost pressures w/o popping off like silicone couplers...plus, no hose clamps cluttering the engine bay, cutting hands when working on car...hose clamps look cheap to me, as do silicone connectors...i think the solid metal connectors offer a more secure, better looking alternative to ordinary hose clamps..plus they are much easier to remove and install AFTER initial welding.
Each IC pipe now has only 1 connector (not including those at throttle body and IC), making them 2 piece section-each air intake has none (1 piece pipes)..many couplers and hose clamps were ommitted by welding some pipes together and using these metal connectors where necessary.
Of course the new core support allows easy removal of these longer pipes with fewer connectors that wouldn't be possible with the stock core support.
You can seee 2 SFR couplers in the attached pics-one on the charge pipe, the other on the passenger side turbo outlet.

cool. Looks much better than couplers that is for sure. Couplers ease the install and allow for flex/inexact fits.
Would love to get rid of many of my couplers, go with a 1 or 2 piece pipe from the ic outlet to the TB.

I hear ya..we decided to keep some flexibility in the system by using silicone at the IC, which are hidden from view...the visible areas used the SFR couplers...he can add one at the TB like he did on his personal car but I didn;t want to weld on the TB
It appears as though the charge pipe that you want o convert is the easiest pipe to use this connector on as it doesn't make too many twists and turns.

nice progress OG! Last time I was in there your car did look more complete than last time I saw it. Since it had the bumper mounted I didnt get a good look at it.
I was going to talk to Tim about your ride when I picked up my Z, but he wasnt there at the time. When you swing by to pick it up let me know, I want to see that thing running!

air diverssion plate color ideas
open to ideas on color of new air diversion plate Tim made.....thinking, CF wrap, blue like front cover, cermakrome like IC pipes, chameleon/neo ti or even drite anodized gold but that may be a gaudy....
Not too good with the artsy stuff.....comments? suggestions?
core support will be candy blue.....all other stuff underhood polished cermakrome......radiator, oil coolers, IC all TLTHD gloss black if that helps with determining a color scheme...
TKS!

What up Ogie! Just saw your car at Tims and looks great. He just finished my twin turbo kit and saw him making your air diversion plate. I think it looks good the way it is. You got so much stuff done to your car it's not funny man. Everything that Tim has done has been top notch. The IC couplers are great too.

Awesome man! Photos don't alwys show things in their full light...glad it looks good in person...once we get the final bits of fab work done, everything goes to paint...it should look really nice with the tube core support sprayed the same candy blue as the front engine cover, it will stand out much more.
Thanks for the compliment dude!

na, I'm not like that..if I can help someone else then it's no skin off my back...Mine were 80 bucks installed so the coupler itself should be cheaper..maybe send him your pipes and let him do it all?! I sent him an email awhile ago..maybe he'll come post something....
