Just a quick check, been on Fluidampr website http://www.fluidampr.com/product/640901/
and it says the diameter is 6.5" for the crank pulley but I have been doing searches and I am sure people post that it is 6.12?
Trying to spin my V3 SCi faster and change the crank pulley from my lightweight undamped AMS one.
I am using the stock 3.33 pulley but I believe if I use the Fluidampr (if it is 6.12) and a 3.12 pulley I will spin my blower near max at a shift region of 6500rpm.
Anyone else use this setup on a DE (none rev up) setup?

Killing this thread off, found answer on another forum. Its 6.125 and someone else has been successfull with it, going to give it a try along with the 3" maf pipe to get over 400whp.

I'm in the market for a bigger crank pulley, I'm currently running the 2.87, is this the same size as the stock crank or larger?

You really want to spin the blower? Go ATI with a diameter of 6.61...

You will spin the blower at approx. 61,763.52 with the stock cog set up and the 2.87

And with the 3.12 the blower will spin at approx. 56,814.53

Give or take a few rpms due to belt slip if you don't have the TIMROD belt set, radius strut ber up or the GTM extra pulley.

Sorry to bring a thread back from the dead... but Fluidampr pulley has a 6.125" diameter, and the 2.87 pulley would cause it to spin at 57k @ 6500RPM... is that safe? with the 3.12 pulley it'll spin at 52k @ 6500RPM...

With a power goal of 450Whp-500Whp, would it be possible to hit that with a 3.12 pulley + fluidampr or will I have to use a 2.87? Assuming my fuel setup, and everything else is already perfect. (CJM return kit, 1000cc injectors, aeromotive 340, etc.)

I'm in the same situation as KushZen. I have a built engine with 10:1 compression running a Vortech SCi V-3. Currently I have the Fluidampr crank pulley and a 3.12 pulley. All other cog pulleys are stock at 32 and 28 for a non rev-up engine. Been thinking about going up to 2.87 as well, especially since my engine is built, but I'm worried about overspinning my blower. In fact, I might be overspinning now. Any help or guidance would be appreciated? Thanks.

the worst thing that could happen is that the bearings let loose, and the impeller crashes into the volute and sends metal into your intercooler.

If that is an acceptable risk, albeit a low risk, go ahead and do it.

So let me put this out there....could a fluidampr crank pulley with a 3.12 supercharger pulley be equivalent to a stock crank pulley and a 2.87 supercharger pulley?

Thank you for your replies. I'm a bit disappointed that this thread has taken a negative turn. OldMan350z, I've been following your threads for years now. I feel that you have made a significant contributions over the years that have affected both the 350Z/G35 communities worldwide. I spend more time on the G35driver forums as I've owned a G35 new since 2004. I don't post very often as I do try to find the answers first, which explains my low post count.

I have used the calculator on the vortech website and the impeller speeds for both set-ups seem a bit similar. I think most members wouldn't change their OEM crank pulleys unless they had to. The most ideal time would be during an engine rebuild, but if that were to happen, I think most members would go turbo instead of supercharged. I don't think the question was inappropriate compared to more silly questions such as, "what is the best exhaust or what is the best intake?"

Sometimes I think we forget that we were all beginners at one time. In my profession I deal with maxilla-facial prosthodontics and when I see a patient that has poor oral hygiene, I think what is so hard about brushing and flossing? Forced induction is much more complex than brushing and flossing even though it seems like simple math to some of us.

OldMan350z I am interested in your radius rod for the Vortech bracket to help prevent flexing. I've been reading about it and a new friend of mine suggested that I get one. I was going to PM you if that is more appropriate Are you still selling these and how is fitment with a G35 coupe? Thank you.

Just throwing this out there that I may end up doing a dyno to see what gains are made with the Fluidampr (Waiting on Pending Sale) and 3.12 pulley as this will soon be my setup on my Non-Revup. Currently using Stillen Lightweight Crank pulley (Same size as OEM) and just a few shy of 400whp. I'll keep you guys in the loop.

Yeah still interested, have been buying other bits so still need to get the fluidamper but, if the sizes people say r right it will spin the blower faster=more hp. I'm running an amm lightweight crank, but heard it's probably scoring my crank as we speak, due to lack of dampening.
