Buy them and let us know. There is no personal review on my350z. You could be a pioneer.

what he said

And if you're looking at ebay turbos, then I think you're not fully grasping what it takes to to have a FI Z. Unless you really know your stuff....

Default Able to use VW turbo on 350Z?

Hi All,
So I went from the VW crowd (00 GTI 1.8t) to the 350Z. I sold my VW off with a KO4 turbo upgrade and realized I still have the stock KO3S turbo from it. Rather than buy a costly turbo kit for the Z, I was wondering if I could use the VW's old turbo.
Thanks in advance!

You can with some awesome fab skills but that seems WAY to small. Why would you put a turbo meant for a 1.8l on a 3.5l??

Because I'm cheap! haha
So more expensive to get it to work versus buying the right turbo? What's up with these inexpensive ($150) turbos on ebay? (Duh, it's ebay!)

Thanks

Well cheap and 350z doesnt go in the same book, so loose that thought immediately! How much powe you looking to gain? If you semi enexpensive power go N2O. Good luck finding a kit that will accept the VW turbo.

Maybe it's the beer but I was thinking if I could pull off the KO3 turbo in the Z, then money saved and the turbo helped me get some power rather than no power increase.
Just want some inexpensive power. Less than $2k possible?
Thanks again

you will have to plot your engine on the compressor map for that turbo... chances are it will work but be more of a hairdryer as you will be nowhere near a decent efficiency area on that compressor. Next you need to check to see that the turbine section isnt too small... great boost from low rpm but a huge choke after mid range.

there is lots of calculators online to assist in your decisions

http://www.not2fast.com/turbo/glossary/turbo_calc.shtml

your compressor isnt on there but if you have the map for yours you can find one there that is similar to check for compatibility

2k would buy you a decent exhaust for the Z... nothing more. if you want decent power multiply that number by x4 at least.
