Think there was too much timing? Or that the hg let go first and then the sleeve took a sht?
It's possible that block just had a bad sleeve that didn't show it's self during machining or in the past
You have any thoughts on it?
Sucks to see that man.

So I had another set of rods on standby. And I ordered a new set of Pistons and bearings. And this time went with hks head gaskets and arp L19 head studs. All the parts should be here Friday so hopefully il have it running this weekend.

What are you doing about the cracked/melted sleeve? or do you have a spare block? Compression on next build?

So got a good bit done on my new engine today. Took there rods to machine shop yesterday to have them checked out came up with a few bent wrist pins and had to hone the small end on one rod. But I got new Pistons 11:1 stock bore like I had went back with hks head gaskets instead of HR and with L19 head studs over the standard arp's that I had. Don't mind the LS bashing in the pics my helper today drives a LS3 camaro
Rod in the hone
Bent wrist pin from old piston
L19s and hks gaskets
L19 vs standard
Hand filed the edges on main caps and block edges
Almost back together
