Two years has passed and the car is still not running. We found mold from our apartment and money has gone elsewhere.

But let's stay positive since good things has happened in two years. Hks has released a new supercharger kit with 8550 supercharger!! So that's definitely what I'm going with. Other goodies that I have bought include Cosworth oil baffle and Motordyne TDX exhaust.

Currently I have the short block assembled, but still a long way to go. I try to find some time to keep you guys posted. Let's see if I can make it run this summer. Stay tuned...

Engine is now close to completion. I just need to put in the pathfinder mod and plenum, wiring and bolt everything back together. I bought new Injector Dynamics 1050 injectors. Hopefully those will be worth the money invested. Good example of money well spent are those tomei headers. Quality is superb, good instructions and proper heat shields.

I tried to find some info related to first startup, but couldn't find much. I will prefill the filter and oil cooler, but how will I make sure the oil reaches heads, pistons, etc?

Should I spin the engine without plugs and with fuel pump switched off or what? Good advice would be really appreciated.

Car fired up nicely, but found out that I ****ed up the rear main seal installation. Word of advise - do not **** it up. I had to drop the gearbox, upper oil pan, front crossmember, etc. Some magicians say they have done this in 4 hours, but honestly it took me two days. Although that included half a day of cursing and weighing my options.

I also manged to hydrolock the engine. This **** almost made me cry. Coolant poured over the funnel into my intake filter. I shut down the engine immediately when I noticed it.The engine wouldn't start after cleaning the filter and pulling the plugs. Luckily this thing sorted itself with a weeks wait. Engine oil smells like gas due to too many start attempts

, but I guess I'm good.

Now engine is in and it idles good with Uprev. Next step is to install the supercharger and install Link ecu. After that I'll just take it to my tuner and see what kind of numbers she puts out.

Default Hks 8555

Supercharger kit arrived and I was pleased to find out that it had the bigger 8555 supercharger and not 8550. I try to get this installed this month and tuned for ethanol in September.

Thanks!

I started the installation and found out that a bolt-on kit is only bolt-on when your car is stock

Nismo steering oil cooler needed custom brackets and the folding licence plate holder got in the way of the new intercooler. But the real issue came to light when I calculated what size pulley do I need.

I think the redline of the engine will be set to around 7000 rpm. Of course this will be determined in the dyno based on the power curve. Now the biggest pulley that HKS offers is 120 mm. With my ATI damper I could only rev to 6500 before the supercharger would go over the recommended maximum of 100 000 rpm.

One way to solve this would be with a custom 127,3 mm pulley that would give me 10000 rpm at 7000 engine rpm. But I might run into some clearance issues.

Another option would be to lathe the 102 mm -> 115 mm pulley into
102-> 102 and fit a 110 mm supercharger pulley. This would give me 100 000 rpm on the supercharger while the engine is at 6820 rpm.

HKS says that 8555 has maximum of 100000 revs, but the compressor map goes to 110000 so I guess overspinning it slightly shoudn't be much of an issue.

One thing I'm a bit worried about is that I need to find belts that fit this setup. I need to do some more math to make sure I can get a belt that fits before I do something I can't go back on.

Managed to find couple of hours an continued with the installation.

That bolt required cutting an allen key
I like the installation of the supercharger oil cooler attached into the side of the intercooler.
Ic piping is alot bigger than in the old kit.
Starting to look good 😊

That blower looks very small, any idea of how much air it flows?

HKS superchargers aka rotrex are smaller, quieteramd more efficient than any other out there. They are basically an engine driven turbo, they don't need to be big. That unit is good for over 550hp.

Thanks! That's one of the main reasons why I chose to go with HKS. The old blower was extremely quiet and my Mishimoto blowers make alot more noise than it did. Since this an illegal setup in my country I don't want to attract too much attention.

My power goal is 500whp. I think I can get close to that with this kit, supporting mods and ethanol. Here is the compressor map for the 8555. I guess I would have preferred the GTM c38-92 kit, but that is no longer available. CFM is 915, but it should still get me close to my goals. It's a track / drift / weekend car and I don't want to push it too far. Honestly the old kit felt fast enough at the track, but since the engine is now built and the old SC broke I thought this was the best way to go.

You should be good, the Pro kit with the small pulley is good for over 500hp. You have cams, and other stuff as well =)

HKS customer support in Europe is worthless. I knew this beforehand, but I didn't think it could be this bad. It takes a week to answer an email and the answers a won't get me anywhere. It's great to pay 6300€ for a supercharger and get zero help with your issues. Ok, enough with the rant.

I need a custom pulley in order to use my ATI damper pulley which has a bigger diameter. This would force me into a 127 mm pulley which won't clear the hood and intake. So I need to make a custom pulley that will change the drive ratio.

This: http://www.dunlopbtl.com/downloads/D...0V-Pulleys.pdf has the dimensions for the micro-v pulleys.

Plus it has part numbers for various 105 mm pulleys. You'd just have to find one that fits the shaft.

Wow!!! Very nice build! My HKS GT8555 is waiting to go in still. Stock block revup. Any idea if I will be running into any fitment issues? I know yours is a DE.

There were no fitment issues. All the issues that I had during the install were due to aftermarket oil coolers, catch cans, etc. I was unable to get a custom pulley so I will be using my stock crankshaft pulley and get it tuned. This sucks due to money invested into the ATI damper, but there is not much I can do since all the machine shops are fully booked. Hopefully my car will be up and running in a month or so. I'll post back when I have dyno numbers and initial impressions.
