Yes I am referring to race tune and street tune setup where I can adjust it on the go. The shop ordered the tuner kit that did not include injectors and they did not want to order extra parts without informing us first, I myself have only spoken with the shop owner once, everything else is coming from what my dad is telling me which knowing his car knowledge there are probably some things he is misinforming me of. And I know that no matter what I do to it I am still just gonna have an old beat up nissan however I still for some reason can not bring myself to sell the car. As to why I did not sell it and get something else, that was originally the plan, I was originally gonna take the money and rocket bunny/ turbo an frs and call it good. And trav, vettes just are not my thing, especially c5s. My friend has a bolt ons c5 that I have driven many times and it just has too many issues.

If the shop is replacing the ECU, just go with a Haltech/AEM/etc. type standalone with integrated boost controller and map selector switch. That way so you can change tunes & boost with a simple ****. Granted it's more $$$, but your Uprev/Cobb tuner thingy idea doesn't jive with replacing the ECU unless I've been out of the loop for a while and there is some new hybrid hipster setup.

I will call the shop tomorrow to get the exacts, we are going down to visit the shop on Friday to look at the car. I will take some photos of the car while I am there, and if we are lucky the car might be done.

again, please elaborate...

you are going to have an electronic boost controller and adjust boost levels? having multiple maps with a specific handheld device that you physically change maps with is what you were stating - something like what cobb does is what I am thinking, but you stated removing the ECU.

I know I'm a dumb SOB so I maybe use small words and be as specific as possible.

For example my car runs the HKS Fcon. I have and EVC 5. I am tuned up to 16 psi, so all I need to do is use the boost controller.
-off -> spring pressure 9-12 psi depending on temp.
-on, low boost -> steady 11.5 maybe slightly more if temps are cold
-on, high boost 15.5 psi

So it was just a game of telephone (words changing from person to person) , they are replacing the ecu and installing a boost controller for me to mess with at will. I believe he said it would be a greddy profec something. They also told me my trans would not hold the power for too long and eventually I should look in to a different trans as mine has 184k miles and probably wont support too much more power. Also the car is set to be done within the next 5 days so I will make sure to get some videos and pictures once I get it back.

There is a clear 1st choice for ECUs for boosted 350z 6MTs and that is the Haltech pro plug in. It replaces the stock ECU and controls everything. If you can get your money back on the expensive boost controller, put it towards this.

Good luck.

I am aware that I do not know what I got in to, if I would have realized ahead of time that it was gonna be this much of a hassle I would have just gotten rid of the car and gone a different direction, and I am going with an act dual disk clutch, its already in the shop and they are installing that right now, if it is not already in the car. And I am not sure what ecu they are going with but I remember him mentioning haltech.
