I wouldnt let the comments discourage you. Its not practical at all to TT a car like this but it will be fun and a custom, one of a kind Z thats yours.
I bought my kit and all the supporting mods and built my Z by myself in my garage. It had been a dream of mine to do ever since I joined the forums in 05. I put it off for years as I changed jobs and moved houses but now thats its done I couldnt be more happy. It puts a smile on my face everytime the open dumps scream. Putting 15K in a car thats worth 5K is stupid yes, but to each their own and if thats what you want I say hell yea. Hopefully this shop comes through for you, thats one thing I couldnt accept was giving my Z to someone else to work on. Half the fun is building it yourself. Good luck

As much as it sucks that things keep getting pushed back and the costs keep piling up, it will be worth it when you're done.

Sorry for not updating but the shop has been taking their merry time, I agree to the thought of it being another month. In the mean time I have been working on getting my motorcycle license so I can get a smaller bike to ride during the times something on my car breaks.

You're lucky, don't be like my friends with rich parents and get caught up with drugs and other BS. You need to make a living yourself one day is what they don't realize until it's too late, you seem pretty smart though. But so were they at your age. Be careful kid. Hopefully your build works out, you seem to share the same passion we all do here. You're not here to just go "Look at what my Dad bought me!" Which is cool.

So I finally got my parents to tell me what is taking so long at the shop, when I left after dropping off the car my dad came in after me and told them he wanted to put a turbo ls motor in it, to surprise me for my birthday, but once it came down to it they could not get it done, which is why they have wasted this long in the build. Good news is the built motor is already back from being machined and my car will be done any day now.

Trust me if I were reading this after all the delays and stuff the shop has done I would not believe it, but I do have pictures of my car if that would help you to believe I am not a troll.

I'll post some pictures once I get home, most of them aren't the best quality though because they're iPhone pictures that have been cropped and stuff.

Those are the last pictures I took of the car before taking it to the shop, I know my license plate is in one, I was just too lazy to edit it out. And yes my bumper was ziptied due to my dad hitting a curb and snapping the edges of the bumper.

make sure before you get it back you put some 25mm spacers on the rear wheels.....

I mean... kind weird thread....but ...ugh....you are getting the car turbo-ed and engine built....doesn't happen often on the forum any more sadly, so props for that!

I know I need some spacers, but I'll wait and see how it looks once I get this next paycheck and I get new wheels/tires. I'm gonna get some wider bronze/goldish wheels, haven't decided what kind yet but I'm only gonna spend about 1500-2000 for all 4 wheels and tires

in my experience there is basically zero issues with spacer if done correctly. I have two sets of wheels for my Z. one just has a thicker pad than the other and I use a spacer to make up the difference on the other set.

it's always easier to buy a proper fitment, but if you can't get the exact offset you want in the specific wheel you want, using a spacer is just fine
