Default Searching for new clutch set up. Need some input fellas

Hey guys currently I'm fully built tt over 600rwhp. I'm currently run I g a OS Giken twin disc that is shot. Apparently the flywheels can't be cut and pointless to get a overhaul kit. So now I'm tri g to make a decision on what clutch to get. I have read some good things about ATS and was leaning towards that cause of only about to hold per but drivability. I was also informed of southbend today from a shop but don't know much about them. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what clutch would be a good choice. Looking for best drivability along with something that I can trust to hold the power. Thanks in advance

If you have the money and want to hold the power...ATS across all damn day.

Hit up RHDjapan for the best price ( 800 lower that CZP, 400 lower than others) You will pay import fees but its not much. You will be about 2100 otd. You will need a new TOB and sleeve from nissan which is another 100.

http://www.rhdjapan.com/ats-carbon-t...33-vq35de.html

That is what I swapped to and love it. Hated OS giken with light flywheel.

MeanZ runs carbonetics which is the same as ATS...but carbonetics no longer exists.

Thanks man. I understand there is a few different ones tho. When I get my car retuned I'm planning on being north of 600rwhp. So my question is twin disc? Or triple? I'm not really wanting to spend 2100 but if it's gonna work I'll do it. Just a big hit ya know.

Get the twin with the heavier flywheel (lighter than stock but heavier than their lightest)

I run the twin. I held 640whp on the dyno.

I have the twin -> mid 500's. If going well into the 600's, I'd opt for the triple.

Great clutch

maybe this will help with part #s

I can swear by my OS Giken triple. No issues at all, jus south of 1000whp. Drag that car at the tracks all day and can't tell any difference in bite from day one.. Throw in an RJM kit and it's streetable...
Jus my two cents!!!

Contact RHDjapan, ask about 77217 and pick the fw you want.

My exp with OS Giken lead me to not want the lightest one.

ATS hasnt updated their sheet and may not offer all those options.

ATS doesnt need an RJM to be streetable.
You would love how easy my ATS is. Hills are not an issue at all.

Thanks and bro. Appreciate it very much!! Just sent them an email. They actually responded with the same one you just told me about. I did ask about the flywheel tho cause nothing was there for different flywheels. Just said a lightweight comes with it

Ok so I just got a pretty fast response. He just said my choices are 1,100kg clamp cover or 1,350kg clamping cover. No weight options. What would you recommend?

1350kg..holds 740whp. Thats the one I have.

You also need to buy the nissan TOB and Sleeve listed in the pdf linked above.

They offer two Light FW. A really light one and then one that is several kg heavier but still lighter than stock. I would go with the latter.

So, what's the general consensus regarding clutches? At what point do you need a twin or triple plate clutch? I'm still on a 6 puck Comp Clutch, making nearly 600whp.

All depends on your torque as clutch holding strength is measured in torque. Check what yours is rated for and if you are exceeding it, it may be time to upgrade. You may even get slippage slightly before what it is rated at, and that would also indicate time to upgrade.

The first 1,000 miles were horrible but since then it has broken in very nicely and I added an RJM clutch pedal too, it's fantastic now.
