3.1 pathfinder final drive
I have a question if any one know if the pathfinder 3.1 final drive gears or pumpkin will fit / bolt on 350z
This winter am going to retune my car for high hp , will be shooting for 800+whp on c16 or 109 oct fuel
As of now my car makes 609whp on 91 of with 3.3 fd , super fun to drive the gears useable.
Why am asking because I know some would say 3.3 is fine and its , it's about exploring new places for the community.
Also one of my friends her own a 350z with sp racing tt making 880whp with 3.3fd he says at this level it feels like 600+ whp 350z with 3.5fd you go through gears super fast

Assuming same torque curve and same gear, a 3.3 FD, 880 whp will be much faster than a 3.5 FD, 600 whp car. The ratios are not that different to account for such a huge differential in hp.
I don't think you will like a 3.1 final drive but it would be an interesting experiment. I would just find a pumpkin and take it to a shop to have custom axles made if the stockers don't fit.

i found new info maybe a drop-in for 350z. i comes from 2016 infinityQ50 (turbo engine 3.0 v6) there FD is also 3.1, there are few pic of the pumpkin came across on the internet.
also the 4 cylinder turbo of Q50 2.0t have 2.94 FD not sure of the size though.

Regarding Pathfinders:
The diffs in the V8 are M205/R230. Both 2WD and 4WD use 2.937 gears.
The diffs in the V6 are the same R180a/R200 as before. 2WD's have 3.133 gears while 4WD's have 3.357 gears.
This is per the 2008 Nissan factory manuals.
The R200 has the best chance of internal gear/pinion being correct diameters to allow for using in the 350Z diff. There will not be a reference online to know without buying one and opening it up.
The Q50 unit is too small.
Rear differentials are based on torque ranges for design.
