Hit the rollers again, 93oct, 25psi, TI trim
Pretty sure most the OGs know my build. But it's also in this section. It's been running great on this new motor for over a year now. Many road racing track days, autoX events and a good bit of pulls in NOV at Wannagofast half mile where I managed a 160mph. Finally after a year got the car on the rollers. Here's how she did. Car was tuned by Ray at RZG motorsports, graph has a slight dip around 5k Rpm where my boost a pump kicks in which was not very visible in the logs but it's being addressed. Not bad for a remote tune. We will tweak it soon till it's perfect 👌🏽

I did not think the Ti trim would make that much on 93 octane, 706whp Woooooooo
That's 830 hp at the crank.
On VP C16 with a tune, you would make another 80-100whp or so.
Could you refresh me on the Blower Speed again, Serp and Cog Pulleys, and what the rev limiter is set at? Thanks.....

off top of my head I cannot remember impeller speed,
3.12 pulley, stock cog setup, 7600rpm w ATI crank

I always knew low compression was the key for boost... but on reading lowering compression lowers the power output of that force. So to gain those forces back you need to raise the boost. Which I know a lot of people like this for boost because you can run higher boost levels.
But why would you wanna do this? Why lower compression to run more boost to obtain the same amount of compression and output by having stock or higher compression with lower boost?
Can someone explain why lowering compression is good for boosting? If anything it just sounds like your making your turbo work harder to produce power due to lowered compression.
Example from what I've read..
10 psi of boost at 11:1 is 550 hp
But to get 550 hp at 9:1 you need to run 15 lbs
Why is that a good thing for boost? What benefit does lower compression do? Again it just sounds to me like your turbo and engine have to work a little harder by doing this. Idk how that's a good thing when typing to make power.

From what I've read, your fuel octane lever has a big part in how aggressive you can run your timing on any car. If you run lower compression it helps reduce knock and detonation with boost but your low end power will be sluggish (less squeeze) so more boost is needed to make the same numbers a higher compression (more squeeze) motor would make running less boost. The higher the compression the lower the window of safety for knock/detonation. This is why higher rating fuels are needed to keep it at bay, like c16 e85 methanol etc. So you can get away with having more power on high compression safely as long as you use the correct fuel mixture. I'm sure someone with more knowledge than I can explain it better but I hope this helps you understanding this.

Ohhh ok makes sense. I was always under the impression it was power related to produce more power this way. But for a safety to combat detonation makes complete sense why people would opt for this.
I was just thrown off after reading into all that before looking at what rods and pistons I wanted. This is my first non factory turbo build so a lot of new to me or just off base lol

I had in my head 6-1/8" diameter for the Fluid Damper, thinking that's what the ATI was......
He is cranking on that Blower, but it's an HD so it shold hold up just fine.

No worries. I'm happy to see Vortechs making as much power in here with some pretty mean and well put together setups. I really would like to see Aboodi post more on his Z with the YSI, 11.1 compression and e85 pushing almost 30psi. I don't have Facebook so I can't see his updates but saw his YouTube video recently.
