I would assume under F/I applications you wouldnt need a higher "lift" but longer duration since you already cramming the Air into the motor..

So is there a consensus on what cams are good for stock VQ35DE heads aimming for 500-600 rwhp range?

I wish there was but as far as I know al the cams on the market are designed for NA applications.

based on the specs given, the NISMO's are not a fantastic choice for FI.

The mild Tomei's would be a better choice IMHO, with the 264's being kick ***

As phunk mentioned there are def gains to be had, but it all has to work as a unit. Porting heads alone can yield nothing. But do the right porting with the right cam and a manifold that can make it all work and you'll be golden.

Do you mean both the intake and exhaust manifolds? So basicly everything works best when matched up with one another, or rather avoid a bottleneck/weak link? This seems alot like NA modding. How much can ppl expect to gain if they swapped the stock cams for the Tomei 264, assuming both where well tuned?

well, on a turbo car (I dont have much practical experience with SC), you can get away with a much poorer design on the intake side and still net good power. However, when shooting for the bigger numbers on a turbo car, the head is the single biggest area where gains can be had. For many turbo guys, like mentioned above, most people here will be content with the std heads and cams.

For those going for the BIG numbers though, the heads will prove fruitful

So the Nismo cams I got will not work well . I hope thats not the case , I have a set in my garage going in , in a week

Z33 VQ35DE Solid type shaft, 238° intake duration, 240° exhaust duration, 9.20 intake cam lift (mm), 9.20 exhaust cam lift(mm), 125 deg lobe center angle intake, 90° 112° exhaust center angle

Rumor has it that Crane was suppose to have a turbo gring soon.
Any input on this?

I spoke to Crane at SEMA and they said " yeah, we have been messing with them but nothing really in the works"

Maybe playing it close to the vest, but it seemed like they were not really interested in the VQ35 market

If you are useign the Nismos are they the 262/262 versions? If that's the case , they are not that much milder than the Tomei 264s nad shoudl perfom nicely. I went with even milder JWTs (260/260) since I live in Cali and I want to make it a little easier to pass the sniffer. Dn't know till I try though. Even with these I anticipate a >30rwhp kick under boost above 5k. With the Nismos you should expect a little more than that I woudl think.

Correct! It is 262 for both exhaust and intake. Not 262 intake/256 exhaust!
