Friend with G35 wants 350z springs

Hey guys, I'm not too familiar with the G side of the family so I thought maybe you guys could help out. I've got a friend who recently got an 04 G35 with low miles and is now starting to think of some basic stuff he can do. We both searched around and saw that swapping in the springs from a 350z can be done but weren't sure of some things.

1. Is it worth it over the stock G35 springs
2. Is there any kind of drop in ride height and if so how much?
3. Any problems as far as the swap goes or is it straight forward?
4. Are the 350z springs linear or progressive
5. What are the spring rates for the 350z springs vs. the G35 rates.

Thanks guys.

Swapping with stock Z springs should drop the G about .5" I do believe the Z has linier and stiffer spring rates, but I do know the Sport Tuned G has pretty good rates. Myself I got some RSR*Down 350Z springs and it gave me a nice ~1" drop.

Z Springs for a G....!

What your friend needs is Tein 350Z H-Tech springs, lowers the car less than an inch
and still gives you a very comfortable ride. Alignment sould
bring everything back to OEM specs so you won't have tire wear issues!

+1 on going 350z H techs. i did that for my g35 coupe and was a great decision. althought i wasnt satisfied with how the rear sat (front sits lower than rear) i did the rear spring mount mod (search it) and it made me 100 % completely satisfied with my purchase. i strongly recomend 350z h tech and rear spring mount mod to get that "lowered but not slammed" look. looks perfect IMO.

i went 350z s-techs on my G. Did a Cusco camber kit on front and rear. That will drop the car for sure. The spring rates are stiffer for the Z because it sits lower than the G both with OE springs. The lower, the stiffer... blah blah blah. I think i got 1.3 in the front and 1.4 in the rear with no Springmount mod. If he is looking for simple mods, this is the way to go. Good luck!
