no FI VQ sounds neutered by any stretch of the imagination. When it comes to sound evaluation, best bet is always trying to meet up with people who have setups you are interested in

Are there any exhaust systems out there that would be suitable for a N/A setup but could also be used for a Turbocharged application as well?

Default Best Exhaust / Best Seller

The Agency Power exhaust has been, by far, our best seller at THM, second has been the HKS -

"The need for power, quality, and style has once again been executed by Agency Power with their catback exhaust system for the Nissan 350Z. This stainless steel exhaust system features a single titanium muffler setup with a titanium 4.5 inch tip etched with the Agency Power logo. The system utilizes T304 stainless steel 3 inch piping TIG welded with 1/2 inch thick flanges. The Agency Power catback exhaust includes strong durable hangers, gaskets, and hardware for a perfect fitment.

The complete exhaust will fit to the factory cat on your 2003 and up Nissan 350Z. The exhaust will give you a large gain in horsepower and torque (see dyno sheets). The race sound of the exhaust will not drone inside the car but give you that quality tone you desire (listen to sound clip)

Default Exhaust

I have Nismo catback exhaust and I'm getting ready to install Nismo headers. Should I go with test pipes or high flow cats?

Just make sure the 2 canisters have rounded ends and are welded and if they have been used check that the tips are fading or turning a brownish color cause I bought used ones with about 30k miles and the tips were still blue as if they were brand new

Default Best Intake

Stay with the stock system or K&N drop in.
You could create a hot air system or worse
have water enter your engine.

How do you create a hot air system and how often do people here have problems with water entering their intakes?

By using a metal intake tube in a short ram or popcharger.
No heatshield or aftermarket shield is usually not as good as stock
intake box.
